5. Setup
5.1 Charging the Battery

Note on Lens Shadows: The IT30Pro is designed for portability and pairs ideally with short focal length lenses. Using telephoto or large lenses may cause lens barrel shadows in your photos. To avoid this, consider adding the Godox TTL hotshoe riser (sold separately), which elevates the flash by 30mm for better clearance. This riser also allows the flash to tilt from 0 to 90 degrees, facilitating direct or bounce flash use.
6. Operating Modes
6.1 Touchscreen Interface
The flash features a 2.0" color touchscreen and a physical dial for quick and intuitive parameter adjustments.

6.2 TTL Auto-Exposure Mode
In TTL (Through-The-Lens) mode, the flash automatically calculates the correct exposure. This mode supports 1/8000s high-speed sync, front/rear curtain sync, multi-flash mode, and flash exposure compensation (FEC) ±3 values.

6.3 Manual (M) Mode
In Manual mode, you can set the flash power output manually. This mode also supports S1/S2 optical slave modes.
Warning regarding Shutter Speed in Manual Mode: In Manual (M) mode, ensure your shutter speed does not exceed 1/250s. Exceeding this limit can result in dark bands or shadows in your images due to improper flash synchronization. If you need to shoot at higher speeds (above 1/250s), switch to TTL mode, which supports High-Speed Sync (HSS) up to 1/8000s, ensuring correct flash synchronization.
6.4 High-Speed Sync (HSS)
HSS allows the flash to synchronize with shutter speeds up to 1/8000s, enabling you to use flash in bright conditions or with wide apertures.

6.5 Wireless Master & Receiver Modes
The integrated Godox 2.4G wireless X system supports both transmitter (Master) and receiver (Slave) modes, simplifying multi-light setups. It offers a range of 100m, 4 groups, and 32 channels. It is compatible with XPro, X2T, and X3 triggers.

6.6 Built-in Diffuser
The IT30PRO N features a built-in diffuser. A quick flick of the side lever allows you to deploy (W for Wide) or retract (N for Narrow) the diffuser. The diffuser provides wider coverage and softer, more even lighting.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Clean the flash unit regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.
7.2 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, store the flash in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) before long-term storage to maintain battery health.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GODOX IT30PRO N flash, refer to the following common solutions:
- Flash not firing:
- Check if the flash is securely mounted on the camera's hotshoe.
- Ensure the battery is charged.
- Verify camera and flash settings for proper synchronization.
- Inconsistent exposure:
- Check if the flash mode (TTL/Manual) is appropriate for your shooting conditions.
- Adjust Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC) if needed.
- Ensure no obstructions are blocking the flash or the camera's metering sensor.
- Dark bands in images (Manual Mode):
- Your shutter speed may be too high. In Manual mode, do not exceed 1/250s. Use TTL mode with HSS for higher shutter speeds.
- Wireless trigger issues:
- Ensure the flash and trigger are set to the same group and channel.
- Check battery levels of both flash and trigger.
- Verify that the trigger is compatible with the Godox 2.4G X system.
