Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential to ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of your humidifier.

Regular Cleaning (Daily/Weekly)

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the humidifier from the power outlet before cleaning.
  2. Empty Water: Remove the water tank and empty any remaining water from both the tank and the base unit.
  3. Wipe Surfaces: Wipe the interior of the water tank and the base with a soft, damp cloth.
  4. Clean Mist Outlet: Gently clean the mist outlet with a small brush or cotton swab to remove any buildup.
  5. Rinse: Rinse the water tank thoroughly with clean water.
  6. Dry: Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling or storing.

Descaling (Bi-weekly/Monthly)

Mineral deposits (scale) can build up on the heating element and transducer, affecting performance. Descale regularly, especially if using hard water.

  1. Prepare Solution: Mix 1 teaspoon of white vinegar with 1 cup of water.
  2. Apply to Base: Pour the vinegar solution into the base unit, ensuring it covers the heating element and transducer.
  3. Soak: Let it soak for 20-30 minutes.
  4. Clean: Use a soft brush or cloth to gently scrub away any mineral buildup.
  5. Rinse: Empty the solution and rinse the base thoroughly with clean water until the vinegar smell is gone.
  6. Clean Tank: For the water tank, add a small amount of vinegar solution, shake, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

Storage

When not in use for an extended period:

  • Perform a thorough cleaning and descaling.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry.
  • Store the humidifier in its original packaging in a cool, dry place.
