5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Initial Boot-up and BIOS/UEFI Access

After assembling your system, power it on. Press the DEL or F2 key during startup to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility. Here you can configure system settings, boot order, and monitor hardware status.

5.2 Driver Installation

Once your operating system is installed, install the necessary drivers. ASUS provides the Armoury Crate software, which can automatically detect and install drivers, utilities, and firmware updates. For initial setup, an Ethernet connection may be required to download Wi-Fi drivers if not pre-installed by your OS.

5.3 Aura Sync RGB Lighting

The motherboard supports Aura Sync RGB lighting with three Addressable RGB Gen 2 headers. Use the Armoury Crate software to customize lighting effects and synchronize them with other Aura Sync compatible devices.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean your PC case and motherboard components to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating. Use compressed air to remove dust from heatsinks, fans, and other components. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.

6.2 BIOS and Driver Updates

Keep your BIOS and drivers updated to ensure optimal performance, stability, and compatibility with new hardware or software. Check the ASUS support website periodically for the latest versions. Use the BIOS FlashBack feature or the EZ Flash utility within the BIOS for updates.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 No Power / No Boot

  • Verify all power cables (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU) are securely connected.
  • Ensure the power supply is switched on and functioning correctly.
  • Reseat RAM modules. Incorrectly seated RAM is a common cause of no-boot issues.
  • Check CPU installation and ensure the CPU cooler is properly mounted.
  • If using a dedicated graphics card, ensure it is fully seated in the PCIe slot and has adequate power.

7.2 Peripheral Not Detected

  • For storage drives (SATA/M.2), ensure they are correctly connected and enabled in the BIOS/UEFI.
  • For USB devices, try different USB ports. Ensure front panel USB headers are correctly connected to the motherboard.
  • For Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, ensure the antenna is connected and the latest drivers are installed via Armoury Crate or the ASUS support website.

7.3 Q-LED Core (Diagnostic LEDs)

The motherboard features Q-LED Core diagnostic LEDs. These LEDs provide visual indicators for key components (CPU, DRAM, VGA, BOOT) during the power-on self-test (POST). If an issue is detected, the corresponding LED will remain lit, helping to identify the problematic component.
