4. Setup

The ASHATA Big Buttons Phone is designed for simple "Plug and Play" setup.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Making a Call

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Dial the desired phone number using the large numeric keypad.
  3. Wait for the call to connect.
  4. To end the call, place the handset back on the base.

5.2 Answering a Call

  1. When the phone rings and the incoming call indicator light flashes, lift the handset.
  2. To end the call, place the handset back on the base.

5.3 Adjusting Volume

The phone features a 3-level adjustable volume control. Press the VOL button during a call to cycle through the volume levels. The phone will automatically save your preferred setting.

5.4 Programming Family Emergency Numbers (M1, M2)

The phone supports two one-touch family number buttons (M1 and M2) for quick dialing.

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Press the STORE button (usually located near the M1/M2 buttons).
  3. Dial the desired phone number you wish to save.
  4. Press either the M1 or M2 button to save the number to that memory slot.
  5. Replace the handset.

To dial a stored family number, simply lift the handset and press the corresponding M1 or M2 button.

5.5 Programming SOS Numbers (Up to 5)

The phone can automatically dial up to 5 preset SOS numbers in an emergency.

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Press the STORE button.
  3. Dial the first SOS number.
  4. Press the SOS button. The number is now saved as the first SOS contact.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for up to four additional SOS numbers. The phone will dial them in sequence if the first number is unavailable.
  6. Replace the handset.

To activate the SOS function, press the large SOS button on the phone base or the remote controller. The phone will automatically dial the preset SOS numbers in sequence until a connection is made.

5.6 Remote SOS Controller

The included remote SOS controller allows for convenient distress signaling from anywhere within range in your home.

  • To activate: Press the button on the remote SOS controller. The phone will initiate the SOS dialing sequence.
  • Battery: The remote controller uses a CR2016 cell battery (included). Replace when the indicator light on the remote no longer illuminates or its range decreases significantly.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the phone with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
