Intelamp Linkable Motion Sensor Case User Manual

Model: Linkable Motion Sensor Case

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Intelamp Linkable Motion Sensor Case. This device is designed to enhance the functionality of your compatible Intelamp solar street and flood lights by enabling smart, linked lighting based on motion detection. It operates wirelessly, leveraging solar power for convenience and efficiency.

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your motion sensor case to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

2. Important Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions carefully before installing or operating the motion sensor case. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Ensure the installation location allows for sufficient sunlight exposure to the solar panel for proper charging.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device. This may void the warranty and pose safety risks.
  • Keep the device away from extreme temperatures, corrosive substances, and open flames.
  • Handle the device with care to avoid physical damage.
  • This product is designed for outdoor use. Ensure it is mounted securely to prevent falling.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present in the package:

  • Intelamp Linkable Motion Sensor Case
  • Mounting Screws and Wall Plugs
  • Adhesive Pad for mounting
  • User Manual (this document)

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your Intelamp Linkable Motion Sensor Case:

4.1 Choosing an Installation Location

Select a location that meets the following criteria:

  • Direct Sunlight: The integrated solar panel requires direct sunlight for several hours daily to ensure optimal battery charging. Avoid shaded areas.
  • Motion Detection Coverage: Position the sensor to cover the desired area where motion detection is needed. Consider the detection range of up to 25 meters (82 feet).
  • Intercommunication Range: For linked lighting, ensure the sensor is within 30 meters (100 feet) of compatible Intelamp lights (models 16A, 13P10, 10E, 18GP20) for seamless signal sharing.

4.2 Mounting the Sensor Case

The sensor case offers two mounting options:

  1. Screw Mounting:
    • Mark the desired drilling points on the wall or surface using the sensor case as a template.
    • Drill holes and insert the wall plugs.
    • Align the sensor case with the holes and secure it using the provided screws.
  2. Adhesive Mounting:
    • Clean the mounting surface thoroughly to ensure it is dry and free of dust or grease.
    • Peel off the protective backing from the adhesive pad.
    • Firmly press the sensor case onto the desired surface for at least 30 seconds. Ensure a strong bond.

4.3 Pairing with Compatible Lights

The Intelamp Linkable Motion Sensor Case is exclusively compatible with Intelamp models 16A, 13P10, 10E, and 18GP20. Each compatible light can be paired with multiple sensor boxes for wider coverage.

The pairing process is automatic. Once the sensor is powered on and within range of a compatible Intelamp light, it will establish a connection. No manual pairing steps are typically required. Ensure your compatible Intelamp lights are also powered on and in an active state.

5. Operation

The Intelamp Linkable Motion Sensor Case operates autonomously once installed and charged.

5.1 Motion Detection

The sensor detects motion up to 25 meters (82 feet) away. Upon detection, it sends a signal to all paired Intelamp lights within its intercommunication range (up to 30 meters / 100 feet), causing them to illuminate.

The lights will remain on for a preset duration (determined by the light's settings) after motion is no longer detected, or as long as continuous motion is present.

5.2 Solar Charging

The integrated solar panel charges the internal battery during daylight hours. The sensor is designed to operate efficiently even with limited sunlight, providing reliable performance throughout the night.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your motion sensor case.

  • Cleaning the Solar Panel: Periodically wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures maximum charging efficiency.
  • Checking Mounting: Occasionally check that the sensor case is securely mounted and has not become loose due to weather conditions or vibrations.
  • Sensor Lens: Keep the motion sensor lens clean and free from obstructions to ensure accurate detection.

Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents on any part of the device.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Intelamp Linkable Motion Sensor Case, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Sensor not detecting motion.
  • Obstruction in front of the sensor lens.
  • Sensor mounted too high or too low.
  • Battery low due to insufficient sunlight.
  • Clear any obstructions.
  • Adjust mounting height for optimal coverage.
  • Relocate to an area with more direct sunlight.
Lights not turning on when motion is detected.
  • Lights are not compatible Intelamp models.
  • Lights are out of intercommunication range.
  • Lights are not powered on or have low battery.
  • Verify light model compatibility (16A, 13P10, 10E, 18GP20).
  • Move sensor closer to the lights (within 30m/100ft).
  • Ensure lights are charged and operational.
Sensor battery not holding charge.
  • Insufficient direct sunlight on the solar panel.
  • Solar panel is dirty.
  • Relocate sensor to a sunnier spot.
  • Clean the solar panel thoroughly.
