Setup Instructions
1. Hard Drive Installation (3.5" HDD)
- Remove the brackets from the enclosure.
- Place the 3.5" HDD into the bracket. Pull up the blue clasps on both sides of the bracket, put the hard disk gently, and snap the carabiner pins into the 3.5" HDD side screw holes.
- Reinstall the bracket with the HDD into the enclosure.
- Tighten the screws on the bottom of the enclosure to secure the HDD.
Image: Four-step visual guide for installing a 3.5" HDD: 1. Remove brackets. 2. Place HDD into brackets and secure. 3. Reinstall brackets. 4. Tighten bottom screws.
2. Hard Drive Installation (2.5" SSD/HDD)
- Remove the brackets from the enclosure.
- For 2.5" SSD/HDD, use a screwdriver to open the blue clasp on the side of the bracket.
- Place the 2.5" SSD/HDD into the bracket.
- Use screws to secure the 2.5" SSD/HDD in the corresponding holes on the bracket.
- Reinstall the bracket with the SSD/HDD into the enclosure.
- Tighten the screws on the bottom of the enclosure to secure the drive.
3. Connecting to PC
- Connect the power adapter to the enclosure's DC 12V port and plug it into a power outlet.
- Connect one end of the provided USB-C to USB-C cable (or USB-C to USB-A cable with adapter) to the 'Type-C for PC' port on the enclosure.
- Connect the other end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer.
- Turn on the power switch located on the back of the enclosure. The power indicator light will illuminate.
- Your computer should detect the new drive(s) automatically. If not, you may need to initialize and format the drive(s) through your operating system's Disk Management utility.
4. RAID Configuration
The WAVLINK RapidFire H2R supports 4 RAID modes: Normal, LARGE, RAID 1, and RAID 0. Always back up your data before changing RAID modes, as data loss may occur.
- Ensure the enclosure is powered off and disconnected from your computer.
- Locate the RAID switch on the back of the enclosure.
- Using a small tool (like a screwdriver), adjust the DIP switches according to the desired RAID mode configuration (refer to the diagram below).
- Connect the power cable and turn on the enclosure.
- Press and hold the 'RESET' button for 5-10 seconds until the RAID indicator light confirms the new mode.
- Connect the enclosure to your computer and initialize/format the drive(s) as needed for the new RAID configuration.

Operating Instructions
Data Transfer
Once connected and recognized by your computer, the enclosure functions like any other external drive. You can drag and drop files, copy, paste, and manage data as usual. The USB 3.2 Type-C interface ensures fast data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps.
Hot-Swappable Functionality
The enclosure supports hot-swapping, allowing you to replace or add hard drives without shutting down your computer. This feature enhances flexibility and convenience, especially for tasks requiring frequent drive changes.

Auto Sleep Function
To conserve energy and extend drive lifespan, the enclosure features an intelligent auto-sleep function. If inactive for 15 minutes, the drives will enter sleep mode. They will automatically wake up upon data access.

Daisy Chain Connection
The enclosure supports daisy-chaining up to 3 devices simultaneously via its additional USB 3.2 Type-C port, enhancing overall efficiency and convenience for expanded storage solutions.

Maintenance
Cooling System
The enclosure features dual built-in cooling fans and an aluminum alloy shell with a hollow heat sink design to ensure optimal heat dissipation. The fans automatically activate when the internal temperature reaches 48°C, preventing overheating and maintaining drive performance.

Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the exterior of the enclosure with a soft, dry cloth. Ensure the cooling fan vents are free from dust and obstructions. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
Troubleshooting
- Drive not recognized:
Ensure the power cable is securely connected and the power switch is on. Verify the USB data cable is firmly connected to both the enclosure and your computer. Check your computer's Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS) to see if the drive is detected but uninitialized or unformatted. If so, initialize and format the drive.
- Slow data transfer speeds:
Ensure you are using a USB 3.2 Gen 2 compatible port on your computer and the provided 10Gbps USB-C cable. Older USB ports (e.g., USB 2.0) will result in significantly slower speeds. Check the health of your hard drive(s).
- Enclosure overheating:
Ensure the cooling fan vents are not obstructed. The built-in fans activate automatically at 48°C. If the issue persists, ensure the ambient temperature is within operating limits.
- RAID mode not changing:
Ensure the enclosure is powered off before adjusting the RAID DIP switches. After setting the switches, power on the enclosure and press and hold the 'RESET' button for 5-10 seconds. Remember to back up data before any RAID configuration changes.
