3.1 Blade Installation and Replacement

The U1 Ultra is designed for easy and secure blade changes. Always handle blades with extreme caution.

1. Loosen the Screw: Locate the locking screw on the blade holder. Use the provided blade replacement tool or a suitable pair of pliers to loosen the screw.
2. Insert/Remove Blade: Carefully slide out the old blade or insert the new blade. Ensure the blade is fully and properly inserted into the blade holder.
3. Tighten the Screw: Tighten the locking screw firmly to secure the blade in place. This eliminates blade wobble and ensures safe operation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Opening the Knife (3 Ways)

The U1 Ultra offers three convenient methods for quick deployment:

• Button Lock: Press the button lock to release the blade and open the knife.
• Thumb Stud: Use the thumb stud to manually push the blade open.
• Flipper: Engage the flipper tab with your finger to rapidly deploy the blade.

4.2 Closing the Knife

To safely close the knife, press the button lock and gently fold the blade back into the handle until it is fully retracted and locked.

5.1 Blade Care

The U1 Ultra comes with premium zirconium oxide ceramic blades. These blades offer 1200HV hardness, are rust-free, razor-sharp, and stain-resistant. While highly durable, ceramic blades can be more prone to chipping or breaking if subjected to twisting or binding forces compared to traditional metal blades. Standard utility knife blades can also be used as replacements if preferred.

5.2 Cleaning

6. Troubleshooting

• Issue: Blade Wobble
  Solution: Ensure the screw securing the blade is fully tightened. The screw-secured design is specifically engineered to eliminate blade wobble for accurate and confident cuts.
• Issue: Stiff Button Lock
  Solution: A new button lock mechanism may feel stiff initially. Regular use will help to break it in and improve smoothness. Gently resting your thumb on the button while operating the flipper can also help to prevent sticking.
