4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to make delicious Greek yogurt:
- Add Yogurt: Pour plain yogurt (store-bought or homemade) into the fine mesh filter bag inside the inner strainer basket. Do not overfill; leave some space at the top for the press mechanism.
- Place Spring Press: Position the spring press mechanism on top of the yogurt within the inner strainer basket.
- Apply Pressure: Gently press down on the rotating handle of the spring press mechanism. The spring will apply continuous, even pressure to the yogurt, facilitating whey separation.
- Set Filtration Time: The integrated timing wheel on the lid allows you to mark the start time or desired duration. Filtration time can vary from 4 to 24 hours depending on desired thickness. For thicker yogurt, allow more time.
- Refrigerate: Place the assembled strainer in the refrigerator during the filtration process.
- Remove Greek Yogurt: Once the desired thickness is achieved, remove the spring press mechanism and the inner strainer basket. Carefully scoop out the thickened Greek yogurt from the filter bag.
- Discard Whey: Pour out the collected whey from the outer container. Whey can be used in other recipes or discarded.

- Dishwasher Safe: The entire body of the yogurt maker strainer is detachable and dishwasher safe for convenient cleaning. Place components on the top rack of the dishwasher.
- Rinse and Dry: Rinse all components thoroughly to remove any soap residue. Allow them to air dry completely before reassembly or storage.
- Storage: Store the clean, dry strainer in a cool, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Yogurt not thickening enough. | Insufficient filtration time. | Increase filtration time. For very thick yogurt, strain for 12-24 hours. |
| Whey not separating effectively. | Filter bag clogged or improperly placed. | Ensure the filter bag is clean and correctly positioned. Check if the spring press is applying even pressure. |
| Yogurt tastes too sour. | Yogurt was left to strain for too long or at too high a temperature. | Reduce filtration time. Always refrigerate during straining. |
| Difficulty cleaning the filter bag. | Yogurt residue stuck in mesh. | Rinse immediately after use. Soak in warm soapy water before scrubbing gently. |
