- Assemble Foot Ring: Slide the foot ring onto the gas lift cylinder. Adjust its height and secure it with the provided knob or lever.

4. Operating Instructions
The ErGear Drafting Chair offers multiple adjustment features to customize your seating experience for optimal comfort and support.
4.1. Seat Height Adjustment
To adjust the seat height, locate the lever on the right side beneath the seat. While seated, pull the lever up to lower the seat. To raise the seat, stand up and pull the lever up. Release the lever at your desired height. The chair offers 8 inches of height adjustability to accommodate various desk applications, including drafting desks and standing desks.

4.2. Foot Ring Adjustment
The 19.7-inch wide foot ring provides a comfortable resting place for your feet. To adjust its height, loosen the knob or lever located on the gas lift cylinder beneath the foot ring. Slide the foot ring to your preferred height (up to 5 inches of adjustment) and then securely tighten the knob or lever to prevent sliding.

4.3. Lumbar Support Adjustment
The ergonomic lumbar support is designed to fit the natural curve of your spine. It can be adjusted vertically by 2 inches to provide optimal back support. Gently push or pull the lumbar support mechanism on the backrest to find your ideal position.

4.4. Flip-Up Armrests
The padded armrests can be flipped up 90 degrees. This feature allows you to easily tuck the chair under a desk when not in use, saving space, or to move closer to your workspace without obstruction. To flip them up, simply lift the armrests upwards until they lock into the vertical position. To return them, pull them down.

4.5. Backrest Rocking Function
The chair features a 17-degree backrest rocking function. This allows for a gentle recline, promoting movement and reducing stiffness during long periods of sitting. The tension of the rocking mechanism can typically be adjusted via a knob located beneath the seat.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ErGear Drafting Chair.
- Cleaning: Wipe down plastic and metal parts with a soft, damp cloth. For fabric or mesh areas, use a mild upholstery cleaner if necessary, and allow to air dry completely. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Check Connections: Periodically inspect all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if any feel loose to maintain stability and safety.
- Caster Wheels: Clean any debris (hair, dust) from the caster wheels to ensure smooth movement.
- Gas Lift: The Class 4 gas lift cylinder is designed for durability (120,000 lift cycles). If you notice inconsistent height retention, refer to the troubleshooting section.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your ErGear Drafting Chair, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
- Chair Does Not Stay at Desired Height:
Possible Cause: The gas lift cylinder may be faulty or worn.
Solution: Ensure the height adjustment lever is fully disengaged after setting the height. If the issue persists, the gas lift may need replacement. Contact customer support. - Foot Ring Slides Down:
Possible Cause: The locking mechanism for the foot ring is not sufficiently tightened.
Solution: Ensure the knob or lever securing the foot ring is tightened firmly after adjusting its height. - Squeaking or Noise:
Possible Cause: Loose connections or friction between parts.
Solution: Check and tighten all assembly screws. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to moving parts if necessary, avoiding contact with fabric. - Static Electricity Build-up:
Possible Cause: Friction between clothing/body and chair materials, especially in dry environments.
Solution: Consider using an anti-static mat under the chair. Increasing humidity in the room or wiping the chair with a dryer sheet can also help reduce static. - Difficulty Rolling:
Possible Cause: Debris in caster wheels or damaged wheels.
Solution: Clean any hair or debris from the caster wheels. If wheels are damaged, they may need replacement.
