Setup

1. Mounting the Radio

The TechniSat Viola can be installed under a cabinet or used as a standalone unit.

Under-Cabinet Installation:

  1. Select a suitable location under a kitchen cabinet, ensuring sufficient space and access to a power outlet.
  2. Use the provided mounting template (if included) to mark the drilling points.
  3. Drill pilot holes and secure the mounting brackets using the supplied screws.
  4. Slide the radio onto the brackets until it clicks securely into place.

Standalone Use:

Place the radio on a stable, flat surface. Ensure it is not near heat sources or in direct sunlight.

2. Connecting the Antenna

Connect the whip antenna to the designated antenna input on the back of the radio. Extend the antenna for optimal FM reception.

3. Connecting Power

Plug the power adapter into the DC input port on the radio, then plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet (230V, 50Hz).

2. FM Radio Operation

  1. Press the MODE button until "FM" appears on the display.
  2. Automatic Station Search: Press and hold TUN-/<< or TUN+/>> to automatically scan for the next available station.
  3. Manual Tuning: Briefly press TUN-/<< or TUN+/>> to fine-tune the frequency step by step.
  4. Saving Presets:
    1. Tune to the desired station.
    2. Press and hold the MEM/PRE button until the preset number flashes.
    3. Use the Volume/Selector Knob or TUN-/<< / TUN+/>> buttons to select a preset number (up to 40).
    4. Press MEM/PRE again to confirm.
  5. Recalling Presets: Briefly press the MEM/PRE button, then use the Volume/Selector Knob or TUN-/<< / TUN+/>> buttons to select a saved station.

3. Bluetooth Audio Streaming and Hands-free Function

  1. Press the MODE button until "BT" (Bluetooth) appears on the display. The radio will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon.
  2. On your smartphone or tablet, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices. Select "TechniSat Viola" from the list.
  3. Once paired, the Bluetooth icon on the radio's display will stop flashing. You can now stream audio from your device.
  4. Hands-free Calling: When a call comes in while connected via Bluetooth, press the Volume/Selector Knob to answer. Speak into the radio's microphone (MIC). Press the knob again to end the call.

4. Kitchen Timer Function

The radio includes a convenient kitchen timer.

  1. Press the TIMER button. The timer display will activate.
  2. Rotate the Volume/Selector Knob to set the desired countdown time.
  3. Press the TIMER button again to start the countdown.
  4. An audible alert will sound when the timer reaches zero. Press any button to stop the alert.

5. Alarm Clock and Snooze

  1. Setting the Time: Press and hold the MODE button to enter time setting mode. Use the Volume/Selector Knob to adjust hours and minutes, pressing MODE to confirm each setting.
  2. Setting the Alarm: Press and hold the ALARM button. Use the Volume/Selector Knob to set the alarm time, pressing ALARM to confirm. You can also select the alarm source (e.g., FM radio or buzzer).
  3. Activating/Deactivating Alarm: Briefly press the ALARM button to toggle the alarm on or off. An alarm icon will appear/disappear on the display.
  4. Snooze Function: When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily pause the alarm for a few minutes.

6. LED Work Light

Press the LIGHT button to turn the integrated LED work light on or off. This light can provide illumination for your workspace.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the radio, wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong detergents, as these can damage the finish.

General Care

  • Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the radio.
  • Keep the radio away from direct heat sources and extreme temperatures.
  • Ensure the antenna is not bent or damaged.

Troubleshooting
