Setup
1. Hydraulic Oil Injection
Before first use, hydraulic oil must be injected into the system. Locate the hydraulic oil reservoir cap, typically found under a removable panel on the excavator's body. Carefully pour hydraulic oil into the reservoir until the appropriate level is reached, as indicated by the sight glass or dipstick. Ensure no air bubbles are present.
Video 1: This video demonstrates the initial setup steps for a 1/14 scale RC hydraulic excavator, including hydraulic oil injection, battery installation, power-on sequence, pump boost activation, and an overview of the light system and detailed components.
2. Battery Installation and Power Switch
Install the provided battery into the designated battery compartment. Connect the battery securely. Locate the main power switch on the excavator and the remote controller. Turn on the remote controller first, then the excavator. Ensure both devices are properly linked according to the remote controller's manual.

3. Transmitter Setup (FlySky PL18EV Lite)
Your excavator comes with a FlySky PL18EV Lite remote controller. Refer to the separate FlySky PL18EV Lite manual for detailed instructions on binding, calibration, and advanced settings. Ensure the transmitter is fully charged before use.
Operating Instructions
1. Light System
The excavator is equipped with a light system. Activate the lights using the designated switch on your remote controller. The lights include those on the main arm and small indicator lights on the rear GPS system.
2. Pump Boost
To engage the hydraulic functions, activate the hydraulic pump boost via the remote controller. This will pressurize the hydraulic system, allowing for arm, bucket, and boom movements. The pump operates quietly and efficiently.
3. Driving the Excavator
The excavator features independent tracks. To move forward or backward, push both control sticks on the remote controller simultaneously in the desired direction. To turn, push one stick forward and the other backward, or adjust the speed of each track independently.
4. Hydraulic Functions
Once the hydraulic pump is active, you can control the excavator's arm, bucket, and boom. The controls are typically mapped to the joysticks on the remote controller. Experiment with the controls to understand the full range of motion for digging, lifting, and dumping. The excavator also features full 360-degree rotation of the cabin.

Maintenance
1. Hydraulic System Care
Regularly check the hydraulic oil level and replenish as needed. Use only recommended hydraulic oil to ensure optimal performance and prevent damage to the pump and cylinders. Inspect hydraulic lines for leaks or damage.
2. General Cleaning
After each use, especially when operating in dusty or dirty environments, clean the excavator thoroughly. Remove any debris from the tracks, gears, and hydraulic cylinders to prevent wear and tear. Use a soft brush or cloth; avoid harsh chemicals.
3. Battery Care
Always disconnect the battery after use and store it in a cool, dry place. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for charging and discharging the Lithium-Ion battery to maximize its lifespan and ensure safety.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Excavator not responding: Ensure both the remote controller and excavator are powered on and properly bound. Check battery levels in both devices.
- Hydraulic functions not working: Verify the hydraulic pump boost is activated. Check hydraulic oil level.
- Slow or weak movements: This may indicate low battery charge or insufficient hydraulic oil pressure. Ensure the pump boost is set to an adequate level (e.g., 50% or higher).
- Physical damage: If the item is damaged out of the box, contact customer support immediately for a free replacement part.
