5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your DATOUBOSS LiFePO4 battery:

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check battery terminals for corrosion or loose connections. Clean terminals with a dry cloth if necessary.
  • Storage: If storing the battery for an extended period, ensure it is charged to approximately 50-70% capacity. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid Deep Discharge: While LiFePO4 batteries can handle 100% DOD, consistently discharging to 0% can reduce overall lifespan. The built-in BMS will protect against over-discharge.
  • Charging: Always use a compatible LiFePO4 charger. Avoid using chargers designed for lead-acid batteries, as this can damage the LiFePO4 battery.

6. Troubleshooting

The built-in BMS is designed to prevent most common issues. However, if you encounter problems, consider the following:

  • Battery Not Charging:
    • Ensure the charger is compatible with LiFePO4 batteries and its output voltage matches the battery's requirements (14.4±0.2V).
    • Check all connections for proper seating and ensure no loose wires.
    • Verify the ambient temperature is within the charging range (0°C to 45°C). The BMS may prevent charging if too cold or too hot.
  • No Power Output:
    • Check if the battery is fully discharged. The BMS will shut off output to prevent over-discharge. Recharge the battery.
    • Inspect for short circuits in the connected load. The BMS will activate short-circuit protection.
    • Ensure the operating current does not exceed the maximum discharge current (100A). Overcurrent protection will activate.
  • Unusual Odor or Swelling:
    • Immediately disconnect the battery from all loads and chargers. This indicates a serious internal issue. Do not attempt to use or repair. Contact customer support.
