4. Setup Guide
The SMISEACOW SM-S8 Pro Max is designed for plug-and-play functionality. Follow the instructions below based on your laptop's available ports.
4.1. Connection with Two Full-Featured Type-C Ports
If your laptop has two full-featured Type-C ports (supporting video output/DisplayPort/Thunderbolt), use the two provided Type-C to Type-C cables.
- Connect one end of the first Type-C to Type-C cable to a full-featured Type-C port on your laptop.
- Connect the other end of the first cable to the Type-C1 port on the screen extender.
- Connect one end of the second Type-C to Type-C cable to another full-featured Type-C port on your laptop.
- Connect the other end of the second cable to the Type-C2 port on the screen extender.

4.2. Connection with One Full-Featured Type-C and One HDMI Port
If your laptop has one full-featured Type-C port and one HDMI port, use one Type-C to Type-C cable and one Type-C to HDMI cable.
- Connect one end of the Type-C to Type-C cable to the full-featured Type-C port on your laptop.
- Connect the other end of the Type-C to Type-C cable to the Type-C1 port on the screen extender.
- Connect the HDMI end of the Type-C to HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your laptop.
- Connect the Type-C end of the Type-C to HDMI cable to the Type-C2 port on the screen extender.

4.3. Connection without Full-Featured Type-C Ports
If your laptop only has a standard USB-A port and an HDMI port, you will need to use the H5 video expansion cable along with an HDMI cable and a Type-C to USB-A cable for power.
- Connect the H5 video expansion cable to your laptop's USB-A port.
- Connect one end of an HDMI cable to your laptop's HDMI port and the other end to the H5 cable.
- Connect the H5 cable's output to the Type-C1 port on the screen extender.
- Connect one end of the Type-C to USB-A cable to a USB-A port on your laptop for power.
