2. QMK/VIA Programmability (Keychron Launcher Web Configurator)
The K0 Max is fully programmable with QMK/VIA firmware, allowing extensive customization of key assignments, macros, and lighting effects. This is done via the Keychron Launcher web application.
- Ensure your K0 Max is connected to your computer via USB-C cable.
- Open a web browser and navigate to the Keychron Launcher website (refer to the official Keychron website for the exact URL).
- The web configurator will detect your K0 Max. You can then remap keys, create complex macros, and adjust lighting settings across multiple layers.
- Changes are applied in real-time without requiring software installation.

3. RGB Backlighting
The K0 Max features dynamic RGB backlighting with 22+ effects. You can customize the hue, saturation, brightness, and speed of the lighting directly on the numpad or through the Keychron Launcher.
- Specific key combinations (e.g., Fn + Light Key) are used to cycle through effects and adjust parameters. Refer to the quick start guide or Keychron Launcher for detailed controls.
4. Hot-Swappable Switches
The K0 Max is equipped with hot-swappable sockets, allowing you to change switches without soldering. This enables customization of typing feel and sound.

4.1. Replacing Switches
- Power off the numpad or disconnect the cable.
- Use the included keycap puller to carefully remove the desired keycap.
- Use the included switch puller to gently grip the switch from its top and bottom clips, then pull it straight up to remove it from the PCB.
- Align the pins of the new 3-pin low-profile mechanical switch with the holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight.
- Gently press the new switch into place until it clicks securely. Do not force it.
- Reattach the keycap.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
To clean your K0 Max, power it off and disconnect it from any power source. Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the numpad. For cleaning between keycaps, use compressed air or remove keycaps with the provided puller for deeper cleaning.
2. Switch and Keycap Care
Regularly inspect switches and keycaps for debris. If a switch feels inconsistent, consider replacing it using the hot-swapping instructions provided in the Operating Instructions section. Avoid excessive force when removing or installing keycaps and switches to prevent damage to the components or PCB.
Troubleshooting
1. Numpad Not Responding
- Check Connection: Ensure the numpad is correctly connected via 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, or USB-C. Verify the mode switch is in the correct position.
- Battery Level: Charge the numpad for at least 30 minutes.
- Restart Device: Try restarting your computer or the device connected to the numpad.
- Driver Issues: For wired connection, ensure your operating system recognizes the device.
2. Bluetooth Connection Issues
- Re-pair: Remove the K0 Max from your device's Bluetooth list and attempt to pair again.
- Interference: Move closer to your device or away from other wireless devices that might cause interference.
- Switch Bluetooth Channel: If using multiple Bluetooth devices, try switching to a different Bluetooth channel on the numpad (Fn + O/Triangle/Square).
3. 2.4 GHz Wireless Issues
- Receiver Placement: Ensure the 2.4 GHz receiver is plugged directly into a USB-A port or use the extension adapter for better signal.
- Interference: Avoid placing the receiver near large metal objects or other wireless transmitters.
4. Keys Not Registering or Double-Typing
- Switch Issue: The switch might be faulty or improperly seated. Try removing and re-inserting the switch. If the issue persists, replace the switch.
- Debris: Check for any debris under the keycap or inside the switch.
5. RGB Backlight Not Working
- Brightness Setting: Ensure the backlight brightness is not set to minimum.
- Firmware: Check for available firmware updates via the Keychron Launcher.
