Product Features

Bold JBL Pro Sound

Despite its compact size, the JBL Grip delivers powerful JBL Pro Sound with punchy bass and clear highs. AI Sound Boost technology analyzes music in real-time to optimize output for enhanced sound quality with reduced distortion.

Extended Playtime

Enjoy up to 12 hours of audio playback on a single charge. Utilize the Playtime Boost feature for an additional 2 hours, extending total playtime to 14 hours.

Ambient Light

The speaker features an integrated ambient light on its back panel. This light offers unique themes and color options, allowing you to customize the atmosphere. Brightness and themes can be adjusted via the JBL Portable app.

Durable Design (Waterproof, Dustproof, Drop-Proof)

The JBL Grip is engineered for durability, featuring an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating. It is also drop-proof, designed to withstand falls from up to 1 meter onto concrete surfaces.

Multi-Speaker Connection with Auracast™

Utilize Auracast™ technology to connect multiple JBL Auracast-enabled speakers. This allows for stereo pairing of two Grip speakers for a wider soundstage or connecting numerous speakers to fill a larger space with synchronized audio.

Setup

Power On/Off

To power on the JBL Grip, press and hold the power button located on the top panel until the indicator light illuminates. To power off, press and hold the power button again until the light turns off.

Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the JBL Grip is powered on.
  2. The speaker will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode if it's the first time being used or if no device is currently connected. The Bluetooth indicator light will flash.
  3. On your mobile device, navigate to Bluetooth settings and select 'JBL Grip' from the list of available devices.
  4. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator light will become solid.

JBL Portable App

Download the JBL Portable app from your device's app store. The app allows for customization of ambient light themes, color options, brightness, and equalizer settings.

Auracast™ Multi-Speaker Setup

To connect multiple JBL Auracast-enabled speakers:

  1. Ensure all speakers are powered on and within range.
  2. On the primary JBL Grip speaker (connected to your device), press the Auracast™ button.
  3. On all other JBL Auracast-enabled speakers you wish to connect, press their respective Auracast™ buttons.
  4. The speakers will automatically connect and synchronize audio playback.

Operation

Basic Controls

Ambient Light Control

The ambient light on the back panel can be controlled directly from the speaker or through the JBL Portable app. Use the dedicated light button on the side panel to cycle through different light themes. For more customization, use the app.

Water and Dust Resistance

The JBL Grip has an IP68 rating, making it waterproof and dustproof. It can be submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. Ensure the charging port is dry before connecting any cables.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Speaker

To clean the JBL Grip, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the speaker's finish or fabric. Ensure the speaker is powered off and all ports are closed before cleaning.

Charging Port Care

After exposure to water, ensure the USB-C charging port is completely dry before attempting to charge the device. Charging a wet port can cause damage to the speaker or charger.
