3. Product Overview
Front Panel:
The front panel of the DVR features status indicators for power, hard drive activity, and network connection.

4. Setup
4.1 Hard Drive Installation (if not pre-installed):
- Unscrew and remove the top cover of the DVR.
- Connect the SATA data and power cables from the DVR to the hard drive.
- Secure the hard drive to the DVR chassis using the provided screws.
- Replace the top cover and secure it with screws.
4.2 Connecting Peripherals:
- Connect Cameras: Attach your HDTVI, AHD, CVI, or CVBS cameras to the BNC VIDEO IN ports on the rear panel.
- Connect Monitor: Connect a monitor to either the HDMI or VGA output port.
- Connect Mouse: Plug the USB mouse into one of the USB ports.
- Connect Network: Connect an Ethernet cable from the LAN port on the DVR to your router or network switch.
- Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the 12V DC input port and then into a power outlet. The DVR will power on automatically.
4.3 Initial Configuration:
Upon first boot, the DVR will guide you through a setup wizard to configure basic settings such as language, date/time, network settings, and hard drive initialization. Follow the on-screen prompts.

5.1 Live View and Playback:
- Live View: After setup, the DVR will display live feeds from connected cameras on the monitor. Use the mouse to navigate the interface.
- Playback: Right-click on the live view screen, select "Playback" from the menu, and choose the desired date and time to review recorded footage.
5.2 Recording and Compression:

5.3 Two-Way Audio:
With compatible HDTVI cameras, the DVR supports two-way audio communication. This feature allows you to listen to audio from the camera's location and speak back through the DVR's audio output, enabling interactive communication.

5.4 Remote Access via Hik-Connect:
The Hik-Connect application allows you to access your DVR remotely from a smartphone or computer, providing live view, playback, and system management from anywhere with an internet connection.
- Download the Hik-Connect app from your device's app store (iOS or Android).
- Register an account and log in.
- Add your DVR by scanning the QR code on the device or entering its serial number.
- Follow the in-app instructions to complete the device addition and begin remote monitoring.
