Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack the Teleprompter: Carefully remove all components from the portable storage bag.
  2. Mount to a Tripod: Attach the teleprompter body to a sturdy tripod using the bottom screw mount. Ensure the tripod can support the weight of the teleprompter, camera, and tablet.
  3. Install Camera Mount: Secure the camera mounting plate onto the teleprompter's sliding rail using the thumb screws. Adjust its position to align with your camera lens.
  4. Attach Camera: Mount your DSLR or mirrorless camera onto the camera mounting plate. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  5. Adjust Tablet Tray: Extend the tablet tray to accommodate your tablet or smartphone (up to 12.9 inches). Secure the device in place.
  6. Position the Beam Splitter Glass: Pull the beam splitter glass forward to a 45-degree angle.
  7. Attach Sun Hood: Secure the foldable sun hood around the camera lens and the beam splitter glass to minimize external light interference.
  8. Connect Remote Control: Pair the wireless remote control with your tablet or smartphone via Bluetooth for script navigation.

Operating Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Script: Load your script into the Desview Teleprompter APP on your tablet or smartphone. The app supports TXT and DOCX formats.
  2. Mirror Text: Ensure the text is mirrored within the app so it appears correctly when reflected on the beam splitter glass.
  3. Adjust Font and Speed: Use the app or the wireless remote control to adjust the font size, color, and scrolling speed of the text to your preference.
  4. Position Yourself: Stand or sit directly in front of the teleprompter, ensuring your eyes are aligned with the camera lens and the reflected text.
  5. Begin Recording: Start your camera's recording and use the remote control to manage the script's scrolling.
  6. Monitor Eye Contact: Maintain natural eye contact with the camera lens while reading the scrolling text.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Glass: Use the provided dust cloth or a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to gently clean the beam splitter glass. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could scratch the surface.
  • Cleaning the Body: Wipe the teleprompter body with a dry or slightly damp soft cloth.
  • Storage: When not in use, fold the teleprompter and store it in its portable storage bag to protect it from dust and damage.
  • Battery Care: For the remote control, replace batteries as needed. If storing for extended periods, remove batteries to prevent leakage.

Troubleshooting

  • Text Appears Backwards: Ensure the mirroring function is activated in the Desview Teleprompter APP.
  • Text Not Clear/Ghosting: Verify the beam splitter glass is clean. Adjust the angle of the glass and the tablet's brightness. Ensure the sun hood is properly installed to block ambient light.
  • Remote Control Not Working: Check the remote control's battery. Ensure it is properly paired with your tablet or smartphone via Bluetooth.
  • Camera View Obstructed: Adjust the camera's position on the mounting plate and ensure the sun hood is correctly fitted around the lens.
  • Tablet/Smartphone Not Fitting: Ensure the adjustable tablet tray is fully extended or retracted to match the dimensions of your device.
