1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the safe and efficient use of your Yomile CCS1 and J1772 to Tesla Adapter. This adapter allows Tesla vehicles to charge at CCS1 DC fast charging stations and J1772 AC charging stations, expanding charging options.

Please read this manual thoroughly before using the adapter and retain it for future reference.

2. Compatibility

The Yomile CCS1 and J1772 to Tesla Adapter is designed for use with Tesla models that support CCS charging. This includes Model Y, Model 3, Model X, Model S, and Cybertruck. It is crucial to verify your vehicle's compatibility before use.

2.1 Vehicle Compatibility Check

To confirm if your Tesla vehicle supports CCS, follow these steps:

  1. Access the vehicle's touchscreen.
  2. Navigate to Controls.
  3. Select Software.
  4. Tap on Additional Vehicle Information.
  5. Locate CCS Adapter Support and confirm that it is marked as "Enabled."

If "CCS Adapter Support" is not enabled, your vehicle may require a software update or a hardware retrofit from Tesla to use CCS charging.

2.2 Charging Station Compatibility

This 2-in-1 adapter is compatible with most public EV charging networks that utilize CCS1 DC and J1772 AC plugs. This includes Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 charging stations from providers such as Electrify America, Blink Charging, ChargePoint, EVgo, and VelociCharge.

3. Setup

The Yomile adapter is designed for simple plug-and-play operation. No complex installation or configuration is required.

3.1 Initial Inspection

Before each use, inspect the adapter for any visible damage, cracks, or foreign objects in the connectors. Do not use the adapter if it appears damaged.

3.2 Connecting the Adapter

The adapter features two main ports: one for CCS1 and one for J1772. The adapter itself connects to your Tesla's charging port.

4. Operation

Follow these steps to charge your Tesla using the Yomile adapter:

  1. Connect the Adapter to the Charging Station: Take the appropriate charging cable (CCS1 or J1772) from the charging station and firmly insert it into the corresponding port on the Yomile adapter.
  2. Connect the Adapter to Your Tesla: Open your Tesla's charging port cover. Insert the Yomile adapter (with the charging cable already connected) into your Tesla's charging port. Ensure a secure connection.
  3. Initiate Charging: Follow the instructions on the charging station's screen to start the charging session. Your Tesla's charging indicator should illuminate, confirming the connection.
  4. Monitor Charging: Monitor the charging progress via your Tesla's display or mobile app.
  5. End Charging: Once charging is complete or you wish to stop, follow the charging station's instructions to end the session. Disconnect the adapter from your Tesla first, then disconnect the charging cable from the adapter.

4.1 Important Safety Notes

  • Always ensure the J1772 ChargeGuard Valve is securely closed when charging at a J1772 station to prevent electrical leakage.
  • Do not disconnect the adapter under load (while actively charging). Always stop the charging session first.
  • Avoid dropping the adapter, especially during use, to prevent internal damage.
  • Do not use the adapter with charging stations rated above 500V for CCS1.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Yomile adapter.

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the adapter with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure connectors are free of dust, dirt, and moisture before use.

5.2 Storage

Store the adapter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided portable carrying case to protect it from physical damage and environmental elements.

5.3 Environmental Resistance

The adapter is designed with IP54 dustproof and waterproof ratings, making it suitable for use in various weather conditions. It can withstand temperatures from -40°F to 185°F.

6. Troubleshooting
