4. Installation Guide
Professional installation is recommended. Disconnect the vehicle's battery before beginning installation.
4.1 Pre-Installation Checks
- Confirm your vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz ML/GL W166/X166 with an NTG 4.5/4.7 system.
- Ensure all components listed in Section 3 are present.
4.2 Wiring Connections
Carefully follow the wiring diagram provided. Ensure all connections are secure to prevent malfunctions.

4.3 Fiber Optic Connection
If your vehicle uses a fiber optic system, unplug the 2P fiber optic harness from the original car CD unit and insert it into the Linux system harness.
4.4 Reverse Camera Connection
Connect the reverse camera according to the provided diagram. Ensure the camera format is correctly selected in the system settings (e.g., AHD 720p@25 for aftermarket cameras).

4.5 AUX Audio Setup
For audio output, connect the audio connection cable (included) into the AUX socket in your armrest compartment. This is essential for the Linux system's audio to function.

5.2 Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto
To connect wirelessly:
- Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
- Pair your phone with the car stereo via Bluetooth.
- Allow all necessary permissions on your phone and wait for the connection to establish.
For wired connection, use the designated USB port (USB1 for data link).

5.3 DSP Equalizer Settings
The built-in DSP allows for precise audio adjustments with 16 EQ segments. Navigate to the DSP settings menu to customize your sound profile.

5.4 OEM Resolution and Camera Settings
To ensure proper display of original car information and reverse camera feed, adjust these settings:
- OEM Resolution: Go to Setup > Car Settings > Original Car Screen Resolution and select the correct resolution for your OEM display. Incorrect settings may prevent original car information from displaying.
- OEM Cameras: Go to Setup > Car Settings > Reversing Settings > Camera Type and select 'Original' or 'Aftermarket' as appropriate.

5.5 Voice Assistant

- No Sound or Distorted Audio:
- Ensure the AUX audio cable is correctly connected to the AUX IN port in your armrest.

- If using wired CarPlay/Android Auto and experiencing noise, ensure the 'AB' connection is made as shown in Figure 4.2.
- Original Car UI Not Displaying / Incorrect Resolution:

- Reverse Camera Not Working:

- Ensure the correct camera type (Original/Aftermarket) and format (e.g., AHD 720p@25) are selected in the settings (refer to Section 5.4).
- CarPlay/Android Auto Connection Issues:
- For wireless connection, ensure Bluetooth is enabled and paired, and all necessary permissions are granted on your smartphone.
- For wired connection, ensure you are using USB1 for the data link.
- Restart both the car stereo and your smartphone.
