4. Product Overview

4.1 Front and Top Panel Controls

5. Setup

5.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove the unit from its packaging.
  2. Remove any protective materials from the turntable platter and tone arm.
  3. Place the unit on a flat, stable surface away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and excessive dust or vibration.
  4. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation.

5.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the supplied AC power adapter to the Power Input Jack on the rear of the unit.
  2. Plug the other end of the adapter into a wall outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Turntable Operation (Vinyl Records)

  1. Lift the dust cover.
  2. Place a vinyl record on the turntable platter. If playing a 7-inch single with a large center hole, place the 45 RPM adapter on the spindle first.
  3. Select the appropriate speed (33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM) using the Speed Selector switch.
  4. Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit and set to a low volume.
  5. Set the Function Selector knob to "Phono".
  6. Release the tone arm lock.
  7. Gently lift the tone arm and position the stylus over the desired starting groove of the record.
  8. Lower the tone arm slowly onto the record. Playback will begin.
  9. Adjust the volume to your desired level.
  10. To stop playback, gently lift the tone arm and return it to its rest. Secure the tone arm lock.

6.2 Bluetooth Playback

  1. Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit.
  2. Set the Function Selector knob to "Bluetooth". The unit will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing indicator light.
  3. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "Retrolife HQ-KZ020" (or similar name) from the list.
  5. Once paired, the indicator light will stop flashing. You can now play audio from your device through the record player's speakers.
  6. Adjust volume on both your Bluetooth device and the record player for optimal sound.

6.3 CD Player Operation

  1. Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit.
  2. Set the Function Selector knob to "CD".
  3. Press the Eject button to open the CD tray.
  4. Place a CD with the label side facing up into the tray.
  5. Press the Eject button again to close the tray. The unit will read the CD and begin playback automatically or display the track count.
  6. Use the Play/Pause, Skip Forward, and Skip Backward buttons for control.
  7. Adjust the volume to your desired level.

6.4 Cassette Player Operation

  1. Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit.
  2. Set the Function Selector knob to "Cassette".
  3. Insert a cassette tape into the cassette slot on the side of the unit. Ensure the tape is fully inserted.
  4. Playback will begin automatically.
  5. To stop playback, press the Eject button next to the cassette slot.
  6. Adjust the volume to your desired level.

6.5 USB Player Operation

  1. Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit.
  2. Set the Function Selector knob to "USB".
  3. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port.
  4. The unit will automatically detect and begin playing compatible audio files (e.g., MP3).
  5. Use the Play/Pause, Skip Forward, and Skip Backward buttons for control.

6.6 AM/FM Radio Operation

  1. Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit.

  2. Connect an RCA cable (not included) to the RCA Output jacks (Red for Right, White for Left) on the rear of the record player.
  3. Connect the other end of the RCA cable to the corresponding audio input jacks on your external amplifier or powered speakers.
  4. Turn on the external amplifier/speakers, then turn on the record player.
  5. Select the appropriate input on your external amplifier/speakers.
  6. Adjust volume on both the record player and external audio system.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Unit

  • Always unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or polishing sprays.
