5.4 Counterweight and Anti-Skating Adjustment
For optimal sound and to prevent record wear, proper tracking force and anti-skating are crucial. The SS08 features adjustable tracking force (0-4g).
- Balance the Tonearm: Gently move the tonearm off its rest. Rotate the counterweight at the rear of the tonearm until the tonearm floats horizontally.
- Set Tracking Force: Once balanced, hold the counterweight steady and rotate the numbered ring until '0' aligns with the line on the tonearm. Then, rotate the entire counterweight (including the numbered ring) to the recommended tracking force for the AT-91R cartridge (typically 1.5 - 2.5 grams).
- Set Anti-Skating: Attach the anti-skating weight to the designated groove on the tonearm support. Adjust the anti-skating dial to match the tracking force setting.
5.5 Power Connection
- Connect the power adapter to the DC input port on the rear of the turntable.
- Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
