3. Key Features
3.1. 2.7K FHD Dual-Channel Recording
The RoadEye 2.0 captures high-definition video at 2.7K resolution, ensuring clear and detailed footage. With dual-channel recording, both the front and rear cameras simultaneously record, providing comprehensive coverage of your surroundings. The 150-degree wide-angle lens minimizes blind spots, and advanced Sony Starvis sensors enhance clarity, especially in challenging light conditions.

3.2. Superior Night Vision
Equipped with a high-quality image sensor and an F1.8 aperture lens, the RoadEye 2.0 delivers exceptional clarity even in low-light conditions and during nighttime driving. This ensures that important details are captured regardless of ambient light.

3.3. Built-in Wi-Fi Connectivity & Smart App Control
Connect your dash camera to your smartphone via Wi-Fi using the KACAM app. This allows for real-time live viewing, convenient video playback, and easy file sharing directly from your mobile device. The app provides a user-friendly interface for managing recordings and settings.

3.4. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
The RoadEye 2.0 incorporates advanced sensors to provide crucial safety features. These include Lane Departure Warnings (LDW) to alert you if your vehicle drifts from its lane and Forward Collision Alerts (FCA) to warn of potential frontal impacts, thereby enhancing overall driving safety.

3.5. Seamless Loop Recording with G-Sensor
The dash camera continuously records, overwriting the oldest footage when the memory card is full. The built-in G-Sensor automatically detects sudden impacts or collisions. When an impact is detected, the current footage is locked and saved to prevent it from being overwritten, ensuring critical incident footage is preserved.

3.6. 24-Hour Parking Monitoring
With an optional hardwire kit (not included), the dash camera can monitor your vehicle even when parked. It supports G-Sensor mode for impact detection while parked and Time-Lapse mode for continuous recording at a low frame rate, providing surveillance against vandalism or hit-and-runs.

3.7. Durable and Heat-Resistant Design
The RoadEye 2.0 is built with a supercapacitor, offering enhanced durability and heat resistance compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. This design choice ensures reliable performance even in extreme temperatures, making it suitable for various climates.

4. Setup & Installation
4.1. Choosing a MicroSD Card
A high-quality MicroSD card is essential for reliable recording. The RoadEye 2.0 supports 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB U3 Class 10 SD cards. Using incompatible or low-quality cards may lead to recording errors or data loss. It is recommended to use cards specifically designed for dash cameras or continuous recording.

Figure 4.1: Compatible and incompatible MicroSD cards.
4.2. Installing the MicroSD Card
- Ensure the dash camera is powered off.
- Locate the MicroSD card slot on the side of the dash camera.
- Insert the MicroSD card with the gold contacts facing the back of the camera until it clicks into place.
- To remove, gently push the card in until it clicks, then release, and it will spring out.
4.3. Mounting the Dash Camera
The RoadEye 2.0 is designed for windshield mounting. Choose a location that does not obstruct your view of the road or interfere with airbags.
- Clean the chosen area on your windshield thoroughly.
- Attach the mounting bracket to the dash camera.
- Peel off the protective film from the adhesive pad on the mounting bracket.
- Firmly press the mount onto the windshield for at least 30 seconds.
- Adjust the camera angle to ensure a clear view of the road ahead.
4.4. Installing the Rear Camera (if applicable)
For models with a rear camera, route the rear camera cable from the main unit to the rear of your vehicle. Typically, the rear camera is mounted on the rear windshield or near the license plate. Ensure the cable is neatly tucked away to avoid interference with vehicle operations.

Figure 4.2: DIY Installation overview for front and rear cameras.
4.5. Powering the Dash Camera
Connect the provided charging cable to the dash camera and plug the other end into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket). The camera will typically power on automatically when the vehicle's ignition is turned on and begin recording.
5. Operation
5.1. Basic Recording
Once powered on, the dash camera will automatically start recording. The recording indicator (usually a red dot or flashing light) will confirm active recording. Footage is saved in segments (loop recording) to the MicroSD card.
5.2. Using the KACAM App
- Download the "KACAM" app from your smartphone's app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).
- Turn on the dash camera.
- On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the dash camera's Wi-Fi network (usually named "RoadEye_XXXX" or similar, with a default password if applicable, check manual for specific details).
- Open the KACAM app. You should now be able to see a live preview, access recorded videos, and adjust settings.
- Use the app to download important footage to your phone, change recording resolution, or configure ADAS settings.
5.3. G-Sensor and Emergency Recording
The G-Sensor detects sudden acceleration, braking, or impacts. When triggered, it automatically locks the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. These emergency files are stored in a separate folder on the MicroSD card.
5.4. Parking Monitoring (Requires Optional Hardwire Kit)
If you have installed the optional hardwire kit, the dash camera will automatically switch to parking monitoring mode when the vehicle is turned off. It can record based on G-Sensor triggers (impacts) or continuously via time-lapse recording, depending on your settings.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Formatting the MicroSD Card
It is recommended to format the MicroSD card regularly (e.g., once a month) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. This can usually be done through the dash camera's menu settings or via the KACAM app. Formatting will erase all data on the card, so back up any important files first.
6.2. Cleaning the Camera Lenses and Screen
To ensure clear video quality, regularly clean the front and rear camera lenses, as well as the LCD screen. Use a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning solution can be applied to the cloth (not directly to the lens).
6.3. Firmware Updates
Periodically check the CrossBeats official website or the KACAM app for available firmware updates. Updates can improve performance, add new features, or fix bugs. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update carefully to avoid damaging the device.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|
| Camera does not power on. | No power from vehicle; faulty charging cable; camera malfunction. | Check vehicle's 12V outlet; try a different charging cable; contact support if issue persists. |
| Recording stops or footage is corrupted. | Incompatible/faulty MicroSD card; card full; card needs formatting. | Use a recommended U3 Class 10 MicroSD card; format the card regularly; replace the card if it's old or damaged. |
| Wi-Fi connection issues with app. | Incorrect Wi-Fi password; app not updated; interference. | Ensure correct Wi-Fi password; update KACAM app; restart both camera and phone. |
| Video quality is poor (blurry, grainy). | Dirty lens; protective film still on lens; low light conditions (for non-night vision). | Clean lenses; remove any protective films; ensure sufficient lighting for optimal recording. |
| G-Sensor is too sensitive/not sensitive enough. | G-Sensor sensitivity setting is incorrect. | Adjust G-Sensor sensitivity in the camera settings menu or via the KACAM app. |
