4. Setup

Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed. Wash the inner pot, lid, and accessories with warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.

  1. Place the electric pressure cooker on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface away from heat sources and water.
  2. Insert the clean inner pot into the main unit.
  3. Ensure the sealing gasket is properly seated inside the lid.
  4. Connect the power cord to the appliance and then to a suitable electrical outlet (110V).

5. Operating Instructions

The BLACK+DECKER PP900G offers 11 pre-programmed functions for various recipes, in addition to manual settings for pressure cooking, steaming, sautéing, and browning.

5.1 General Operation

  1. Add ingredients to the inner pot. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
  2. Place the lid on the cooker, aligning the arrow on the lid with the arrow on the base. Rotate the lid clockwise until it locks into place.
  3. Ensure the pressure release valve is set to the 'Sealing' position for pressure cooking.
  4. Select your desired cooking function from the control panel.
  5. The cooker will automatically build pressure and begin cooking.
  6. Once cooking is complete, the cooker will beep and switch to 'Keep Warm' mode.
  7. Carefully release pressure using the pressure release valve or allow it to naturally release before opening the lid.
