1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation and Charging

The ZWS-802 radio operates on three 3.7V 2500mAh lithium batteries (included). The signal repeater also uses batteries. Ensure both units are charged before first use.

  1. Radio Battery: The batteries are typically pre-installed. If not, open the battery compartment (usually at the back or bottom) and insert the batteries according to the polarity markings.
  2. Repeater Battery: The repeater also contains rechargeable batteries.
  3. Charging: Connect the supplied USB Type-C cable to the charging port on both the radio and the signal repeater, then connect the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

3.2. Signal Repeater Placement

The signal repeater is designed to improve indoor reception, especially for AM, SW, AIR, and V.UHF bands. Place the repeater in an area with good outdoor signal reception, such as near a window.

Connection: The repeater wirelessly transmits the enhanced signal to the main radio unit. No direct cable connection is needed between the repeater and the radio for signal transmission.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Power On/Off

Press and hold the Power button (usually located on the front panel) to turn the radio on or off.

4.2. Band Selection

Press the BAND button repeatedly to cycle through available bands: FM, AM (MW), SW (Shortwave), WB (Weather Band), AIR (Aviation Band), and V.UHF (VHF/UHF).

4.3. Tuning and Volume

  • Tuning: Use the large TUNING knob to manually scan for stations. Short press the SCAN button for automatic station scanning and storage.
  • Volume: Use the large VOLUME knob to adjust the audio output level.

4.4. Audio Playback Options

  • Bluetooth 5.2:
    1. Press the MODE button until "BT" appears on the display.
    2. On your smartphone or other Bluetooth device, search for "ZWS-802" and pair.
    3. Play audio from your device, and it will stream through the radio's speakers.
  • TF Card Playback: Insert a TF (MicroSD) card with MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC audio files into the TF card slot. The radio will automatically switch to TF card mode and begin playback. Supports up to 256GB.
  • Auxiliary Input: Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the 3.5mm AUX-IN port using the provided audio cable. Select AUX mode via the MODE button.
