Setup Instructions

1. Connecting the Transmitter to Your TV

The transmitter supports Optical, RCA, and AUX audio output connections. Choose the appropriate cable based on your TV's available audio output port.

  1. Optical Connection: Connect one end of the optical cable to the TV's Optical Out port and the other end to the OPTICAL input on the transmitter.
  2. RCA Connection: Connect the RCA cable to the TV's Audio Out (red and white) ports and the other end to the RCA input on the transmitter.
  3. AUX Connection: Connect the 3.5mm audio cable to the TV's Headphone Out or AUX Out port and the other end to the AUX input on the transmitter.
  4. HDMI Connection Note: If your TV only has HDMI ports, an external HDMI audio converter (purchased separately) will be required. This system is not compatible with TVs that only support Bluetooth connection.

Important: Infrared Connectivity Limitations

The SM-863D uses infrared (IR) technology. For optimal performance, ensure there is a direct line-of-sight between the transmitter and the headphones. Physical obstacles will affect signal transmission and sound quality. The effective range is approximately 12 meters (40 feet) within line-of-sight. This system is not designed for use in different rooms.

2. Powering the Transmitter

Connect the power adapter to the "POWER IN" port on the transmitter and plug it into a wall outlet.

3. Charging the Headphones

Place the headphones onto the transmitter base. The base serves as a charging dock. Ensure the headphones are correctly seated for charging. A full charge provides approximately 15 hours of listening time, depending on volume levels and content.

Operating Instructions

1. Wearing the Headphones

Adjust the headset arms for a comfortable fit. The super-soft memory foam ear-tips and ear loops are designed for extended wear comfort.

2. Volume Control

Each headphone has independent volume controls. Adjust the volume to your preferred listening level directly on the headset.

3. Tone Control (Dialogue Mode)

The transmitter features a TONE control with three sound profiles: Treble, Middle, and Normal. This allows users to select a profile that best suits their hearing sensitivity for high, middle, or low tones, enhancing vocal clarity.

4. Balance Control

The headphones include a BALANCE control to adjust audio levels between the left and right ears. This is useful for individuals with different hearing sensitivities in each ear.

5. Ambient Sound Listener Mode

Activate the ambient sound listener mode to hear surrounding conversations without removing the headphones. This feature amplifies external sounds through the headphones.

6. Multiple Headphone Usage

Multiple SIMOLIO SM-863D headphone sets can be used simultaneously with a single transmitter within the same room, provided they maintain line-of-sight with the transmitter.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the headphones and transmitter. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, fully charge the headphones before first use and when not in use for extended periods. Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Storage: Store the system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
