1. Safety Information
Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before installation and use to prevent injury or damage. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Installation must be performed by professional personnel.
- Ensure proper ventilation for both indoor and outdoor units, especially for units using refrigerants R32 or R454B, to prevent the accumulation of combustible gas. Strictly prohibit open flames in the installation area.
- For R410A, R32, or R454B units, gas leakage detection must be performed after pipe connection to ensure the refrigeration system is free of leaks.
- For R410A, R32, or R454B units, the system must be vacuumed to remove all air inside.
- Ensure indoor and outdoor connection wires and power supply are connected correctly and reliably.
- If the indoor and outdoor connection pipe exceeds the standard length, additional refrigerant may be required. Refer to the service manual for specific quantities based on refrigerant type and model.

Professional licensed HVAC technician installation is recommended for optimal performance and safety. Please schedule installation after receiving all 3 separate boxes.
Indoor Unit Installation:
Before installation, check the status of indoor and outdoor units. Ensure no parts are broken, the indoor cross-fan operates, and the remote controller works.
Video: A detailed guide on how to install a 2-zone mini split AC unit, including steps for the indoor unit. This video is provided by GarveeTech.
- Check Unit Status: Verify that the indoor and outdoor units are free from broken parts and that the indoor cross-fan and remote controller are functional.
- Gas Flow Check: Before connecting pipes, check for gas flow from the connector. If no gas is detected, inspect the evaporator for any leaks.
- Connect Wiring: Unfix the electric box cover and connect the indoor and outdoor unit connection wires. Important: Double-check the marks on the wires (1, 2, 3, and ground) to ensure correct and reliable wiring connection.
- Piping Direction: Based on the installation location, decide the piping direction and cut the face frame case accordingly. Clean and smooth the cut edges to prevent damage to the pipes.
- Adjust Pipes: Adjust the connection pipes, paying attention to the alignment of the horn. Control the wrench's strength to prevent nut rupture. Ensure no gas leakage after pipes are connected.
- Drainage Pipe: Connect the drainage pipe. It must be sealed with electrical tape to ensure no water leakage.
- Wrap Piping: Wrap the refrigerant pipes, drainage hose, and wiring together with wrapping tape. Note that pipe connectors should be retained for later leak detection.
- Install Wall Plate: Install the wall plate, ensuring it is secure enough to hold the indoor unit.
- Mount Indoor Unit: Pass pipes through the wall hole and securely fix the indoor unit on the mounting plate.
Outdoor Unit Installation:
- Fix Outdoor Unit: Fix the outdoor unit on the mounting bracket. It is suggested to use rubbers on the feet to decrease possible vibration and noise.
- Refrigerant Pipes Cover: Open the refrigerant pipes cover.
- Connect Refrigerant Pipes: Connect the refrigerant pipes similar to the indoor unit. Control the force of the wrench to prevent nut breakage. Connect the pipe horn to the 2-way and 3-way valves straightly to prevent gas leakage.
- Connect Power Supply: Connect the outdoor unit to the main power supply. Note: You must switch off the main power supply first before the connection. Ensure all wire connections are correct and reliable.
5. Refrigerant Piping & Vacuuming
Proper refrigerant handling and vacuuming are crucial for system performance.
- Connect Vacuum Pump: Connect the vacuum pump. First, use one hose to connect the manifold low-pressure gauge to the outdoor unit service port on the three-way valve. Second, connect the manifold gauge to the vacuum pump.
- Vacuumize System: Switch on the vacuum pump and open the gauge low-pressure valve. For split AC, vacuum the unit for at least 15 minutes until the vacuum gauge is maintained at -14.5 psi. For R32 or R454B units, based on the length of connection pipes, it is suggested to vacuum the unit for around 15 to 30 minutes when pump capacity is 4-4.5 CFM.
- Pressure Check: Close the low-pressure valve on the manifold gauge first, then switch off the vacuum pump. Hold the pressure for 5 minutes. Make sure that the rebound of the compound gauge pointer does not exceed 0.73 psi. If the pointer rebounds more than 0.73 psi, check and repair the leakage point, as the greatest possibility is from the pipe connector.
- Release Refrigerant: Open the outdoor unit low-pressure valve counterclockwise for 1/4 turn with a hexagonal wrench to let a little refrigerant fill the system. Close the low-pressure valve after 5 seconds. Check all pipe connectors of the indoor and outdoor unit for leaks. If there is gas leakage, repair and tighten the pipe connection.
- Seal Wall Hole: Until no gas leakage is found, clean the connectors and wrap the indoor connector pipes. Seal the wall hole with sealing cement.
- Remove Pressure Hose: Keep the gauge at positive pressure and quickly remove the pressure hose from the outdoor unit service valve.
- Tighten Caps: Reinstall the protective caps of the service port, low pressure, and high pressure valves of the outdoor unit. Reinstall the valve covers.
6. WIFI Setup & App Control
Control your Garvee Mini Split AC/Heating System conveniently from your smartphone.
Video: Step-by-step instructions on how to connect your Garvee Mini Split AC to WIFI and control it via the SmartLife app.
- Download App: Download the 'SmartLife - smart home' app from your smartphone's app store (AppStore for iOS, PlayStore for Android). Ensure your smartphone is connected to your router first.
- Activate App: Activate the app by scanning the activation QR code or inputting the activation code. The app needs to be activated the first time it's used.
- Register: Register an account by inputting your email address or selecting your country and smartphone number. You will receive a verification code. Ensure your country and smartphone number are correct, or that your email address is available to check information timely.
- Login: Log in with your registered account and password. If using the app for the first time, press 'Create family' and set the unit to the correct location (e.g., 'Living room', 'Master bedroom'). If you forget your password, you can choose 'Forgot password' to reset it.
- Add Device (CF Mode - Quick Connection): Press DISPLAY or ECO 6 times within 8 seconds on the remote to reset the WiFi module. The panel should display 'CF'. Confirm the indicator is ready in the app and enter your Wi-Fi password. The app will search for the router and connect to the server.
- Add Device (AP Mode - Access Point): If the panel displays 'AP', you need to reset the WiFi module by pressing DISPLAY or ECO 6 times within 8 seconds until the panel shows 'CF', then switch to AP mode in the app. This mode is more complex to set up but often more successful for Wi-Fi connection.
- Control AC: Once connected, you can control your AC unit as desired through the app.
