Maintenance
To ensure accurate readings and extend the life of your thermometer:
- Clean the unit and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Avoid exposing the main unit to direct moisture. The outdoor sensor should be placed in a sheltered location to prevent direct exposure to rain and harsh sunlight.
- Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
Troubleshooting
1. No Outdoor Temperature Reading
- Ensure the remote sensor batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Try new batteries.
- Verify the main unit and sensor are within the effective transmission range (up to 200ft/60m in open air). Reduce obstacles between the units.
- Check that the sensor's channel switch matches the selected channel on the main unit.
- If the red light on the sensor does not flash after battery installation, try new batteries. If it still doesn't flash, the sensor may be faulty.
2. Inaccurate Readings
- Ensure the outdoor sensor is not in direct sunlight or near heat sources, which can cause elevated readings.
- Allow both units to stabilize for at least 30 minutes after setup for accurate readings.
