3. Setup

3.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Check for any visible damage during transit. Ensure all included components are present: EC9 Electric Scooter, Charger, Power Cord, Hexagonal wrench, Spare screw set, and Instruction manual.

3.2 Unfolding the Scooter

1. Place the scooter on a flat surface.
2. Locate the folding mechanism near the base of the handlebar stem.
3. Release the latch or lever to unlock the stem.
4. Carefully lift the handlebar stem until it clicks into place, indicating it is fully upright and locked. Ensure the locking mechanism is securely engaged.

3.3 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the scooter's battery. The charging time is approximately 6 hours.

• Locate the charging port on the scooter.
• Connect the charger to the charging port, then plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
• The indicator light on the charger will change (e.g., from red to green) when charging is complete.
• Always use the original charger provided with the scooter.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

• To power on: Press and hold the power button on the display for a few seconds until the screen illuminates.
• To power off: Press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the display turns off.

4.2 Riding Modes and Speed Control

The EC9 offers multiple speed modes to suit different riding conditions and preferences.

• Eco Mode: Lower speed for extended range (e.g., 9 MPH).
• Race Mode: Medium speed for balanced performance (e.g., 15 MPH).
• Sport Mode: Maximum speed and power (e.g., 21 MPH).
• To switch modes: Briefly press the power button while the scooter is on.
• To accelerate: Gently press the thumb throttle.
• To activate cruise control: Maintain a consistent speed for 6 seconds. The scooter will beep to confirm activation. To deactivate, press the brake or throttle.

4.3 Braking

The EC9 is equipped with a dual braking system for effective stopping.

• To brake: Squeeze the brake levers on the handlebars. Apply both brakes simultaneously for optimal stopping power.
• The EABS system provides smooth electronic braking, while the disc brake offers mechanical stopping.

4.4 Lights and Turn Signals

Ensure visibility, especially during low-light conditions.

• Headlight: Press the light button to turn the front LED headlight on or off.
• Taillight: The taillight illuminates automatically when the headlight is on and brightens when braking.
• Turn Signals: Use the dedicated buttons on the handlebar to activate left or right turn signals.

4.5 App Control

Download the ECOROAD app to unlock additional features and monitor your scooter.

• Download the app: Search for "ECOROAD" in your smartphone's app store.
• Pairing: Follow the in-app instructions to pair your scooter via Bluetooth.
• Features: The app allows for real-time monitoring of battery level, speed, total mileage, digital locking, and adjustment of certain settings.

5. Maintenance
