Operating Instructions

Basic Operation

The MCHOSE ACE 68 functions as a standard QWERTY keyboard. Due to its 60% compact layout, some functions are accessed via the Function (Fn) key combinations.

RGB Backlighting Control

The keyboard features customizable RGB backlighting with 22 dynamic lighting effects. Use the following Fn key combinations to control the lighting:

  • Fn + Y: Switch lighting effect color.
  • Fn + F: Decrease lighting brightness.
  • Fn + G: Increase lighting brightness.
  • Fn + U: Cycle through lighting effects.
  • Fn + H: Decrease lighting speed.
  • Fn + J: Increase lighting speed.

Adjustable Actuation and Rapid Trigger

The MCHOSE ACE 68 features magnetic switches that allow for adjustable actuation points from 0.1mm to 4.0mm. The Rapid Trigger function dynamically changes the actuation and deactivation points, enabling faster and more precise inputs by registering key presses and releases based on movement rather than fixed points.

Advanced Key Functions

The keyboard supports several advanced key functionalities for enhanced gaming and productivity:

  • RS (Rapid Shift): Compares the actuation depths of two assigned keys and triggers only the deeper-pressed key.
  • SOCD (Simultaneous Opposite Cardinal Directions): When opposing direction keys (e.g., Left + Right) are pressed together, you can set it to neutralize, prioritize the last-pressed, or hold the first-pressed direction.
  • DKS (Dynamic Key Press): Map up to four separate actions along a single key's travel—at actuation, bottom-out, first release, and full release—for chain macros or multi-stage commands.
  • MT (Mod-Tap): Assign a key to send one keycode on a quick tap and a different (usually modifier) code when held, blending typing and modifier layers seamlessly.
  • TGL (Toggle): Turn any key into an on/off switch—press once to latch the output, press again to cancel, with a hold still providing momentary behavior for instant control.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your MCHOSE ACE 68 keyboard, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Keyboard Not Responding:
    • Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and your computer.
    • Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port on your computer.
    • Test the keyboard on another computer to rule out system-specific issues.
  • RGB Lighting Not Working/Incorrect:
    • Check the Fn key combinations for lighting control (Fn+Y, Fn+F/G, Fn+U, Fn+H/J).
    • Ensure the MCHOSE HUB web driver is correctly configured for lighting effects.
  • Keys Not Registering or Double-Typing:
    • This can sometimes occur with magnetic switches if calibration is off or if 'Berserk Mode' is too aggressive for your switches. Re-calibrate switches using the MCHOSE HUB web driver.
    • Ensure switches are properly seated in their sockets.
  • Software Issues:
    • Ensure your web browser is up-to-date when using the MCHOSE HUB.
    • Clear your browser cache or try a different browser if you experience issues with the web driver.
