4. Setup and Installation

4.1. Voltage Selection

Before connecting the pump to power, ensure the correct voltage is selected. The pump supports both 115V and 230V operation.

  1. Locate the voltage switch protector on the motor housing.
  2. Carefully open the protector using a screwdriver.
  3. Adjust the switch to either 115V or 230V according to your power supply.
  4. Close the voltage switch protector securely.

4.3. Plumbing Connections

The pump comes with 1.5" and 2" NPT adapters for flexible plumbing options.

  1. Apply sealing tape to the threaded connections of the adapters.
  2. Attach the appropriate adapters (1.5" or 2") to the pump's inlet and outlet ports.
  3. Connect your pool's plumbing (PVC pipe or hose with clamp) to the installed adapters. Ensure all connections are watertight.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Priming the Pump

Before starting the pump for the first time or after draining, it is crucial to prime it:

  1. Ensure the pump's drain plug is securely in place.
  2. Remove the transparent lid of the strainer basket.
  3. Fill the strainer basket housing completely with water.
  4. Replace the transparent lid and ensure it is tightly sealed.
  5. Turn on the pump. It should begin to draw water and circulate it. If it does not prime within a few minutes, turn it off, re-fill with water, and try again.

5.2. Normal Operation

Once primed, the pump will continuously circulate water through your pool's filtration system. Monitor the transparent lid for debris accumulation.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Strainer Basket

Regular cleaning of the strainer basket is essential for optimal pump performance and to prevent damage.

  1. Turn off the pump and disconnect power.
  2. Unscrew and remove the transparent lid.
  3. Lift out the strainer basket.
  4. Empty any accumulated debris (leaves, hair, grit, etc.) from the basket.
  5. Rinse the basket thoroughly with water.
  6. Place the clean basket back into the pump housing.
  7. Ensure the O-ring on the lid is clean and properly seated, then replace the transparent lid and tighten it securely.
