1. Product Overview

These XFT AED Trainer Pads are designed exclusively for use with XFT AED training devices. They are intended for educational purposes to simulate the application of defibrillation pads during CPR and AED training scenarios. These pads do not possess actual defibrillation functionality and cannot deliver electrical shocks. They are not for use on actual patients.

3. Setup and Application

To effectively use the AED Trainer Pads during CPR training:

1. Prepare the Manikin: Ensure the CPR manikin's chest surface is clean and smooth. This helps maintain the adhesive quality of the pads for repeated use.
2. Open Packaging: Remove one pair of AED Trainer Pads from its sealed packaging.
3. Identify Pad Placement: Each pad is marked with a diagram indicating the correct placement on an adult or child manikin's chest. One pad typically goes on the upper right chest, and the other on the lower left side, below the armpit.
4. Apply Pads: Peel the protective backing from each pad and firmly press it onto the designated areas of the manikin's chest. Ensure full contact to simulate proper adhesion.
5. Connect to Trainer: Plug the pad connector cable into the appropriate port on your XFT AED training device.

4. Operating Principles for Training

These trainer pads are integral to realistic AED training. When connected to a compatible XFT AED trainer, they allow trainees to practice the full sequence of AED operation, including:

• Pad Placement: Correctly identifying and applying the pads to the manikin.
• AED Analysis: Simulating the AED's analysis of the heart rhythm (the trainer device will provide audio prompts).
• Shock Delivery: Practicing the safe delivery of a simulated shock, if advised by the trainer.
• CPR Integration: Ensuring seamless integration of chest compressions and rescue breaths with AED use, in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

The trainer pads help reinforce muscle memory and procedural steps, preparing individuals for real-life emergency situations.

5. Maintenance and Reusability

The XFT AED Trainer Pads are designed for repeated use, offering a cost-effective solution for training environments. To maximize their lifespan and maintain effectiveness:

• Cleaning: After each training session, gently wipe the adhesive surface of the pads with a damp cloth to remove any dust or debris. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Storage: Reattach the protective backing to the adhesive side of the pads after cleaning. Store the pads in their original sealed packaging or a clean, airtight bag to prevent drying out and contamination. Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat or cold.
• Manikin Surface: Always ensure the CPR manikin's surface is smooth and clean before applying the pads. Rough or dirty surfaces can degrade the adhesive more quickly.
• Adhesive Longevity: While reusable, the adhesive quality will naturally diminish over time and with repeated applications. Replace pads when they no longer adhere securely to the manikin.

• Cause: Accumulation of dust, oils, or debris on the adhesive surface; rough manikin surface; improper storage.
• Solution:
  • Ensure the manikin's surface is clean and smooth before application.
  • Gently clean the adhesive surface with a damp cloth after each use.
  • Always reapply the protective backing and store pads in their sealed packaging.
  • If pads no longer adhere effectively after cleaning and proper storage, replacement may be necessary.

Issue: Pads not recognized by the AED trainer.

• Cause: Loose connection; incompatible trainer model; damaged cable or pad.
• Solution:
  • Verify that the pad connector is securely plugged into the AED trainer.
  • Confirm that your AED trainer model is listed under the compatible devices in Section 2.
  • Inspect the pad cables and connectors for any visible damage. If damaged, replace the pads.
