2. Safety Instructions
Always observe the following safety precautions when operating the pruning saw to prevent injury and damage.
General Safety Warnings

4. Setup and Assembly
4.1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the pruning saw is switched off.
- Align the Power X-Change battery with the battery slot on the tool.
- Slide the battery into the slot until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove, press the release button on the battery and slide it out.
4.2. Guide Bar and Chain Assembly
- Place the guide bar onto the mounting studs.
- Carefully fit the chain around the sprocket and into the guide bar groove. Ensure the cutting edges of the chain are facing the correct direction.
- Close the chain cover and secure it.

4.3. Chain Tensioning
The pruning saw features tool-free chain tensioning for convenience.
- Loosen the locking knob on the side of the saw.
- Turn the red adjustment knob to increase or decrease chain tension. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand.
- Once tension is correct, tighten the locking knob firmly.

4.4. Filling the Oil Reservoir for Automatic Lubrication
The pruning saw has an automatic chain lubrication system. Ensure the oil reservoir is filled before each use.
- Locate the oil reservoir cap.
- Unscrew the cap and use the provided filling funnel to pour appropriate chain oil into the reservoir.
- Do not overfill. Replace the cap securely.

5. Operation
5.1. Starting and Stopping
- To start: Press the safety lock-off button and then squeeze the trigger switch.
- To stop: Release the trigger switch.
5.2. Cutting Techniques
Always maintain a firm grip with both hands. Position yourself securely and ensure the workpiece is stable.
- Pruning Branches: Support the branch if necessary to prevent it from pinching the chain. Make relief cuts if the branch is heavy.
- Cutting Logs: Place the log on a stable surface or sawhorse. Avoid cutting into the ground.
- Avoid Kickback: Never cut with the tip of the guide bar. Always use the bottom edge of the guide bar for cutting.

6. Maintenance and Care
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pruning saw.
6.1. Cleaning
- Always remove the battery before cleaning.
- Use a brush or compressed air to remove sawdust and debris from the guide bar, chain, and motor housing.
- Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
6.2. Chain Sharpening and Replacement
- A dull chain reduces cutting efficiency and increases kickback risk. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when necessary.
- The chain and guide bar can be replaced without tools by following the assembly instructions in Section 4.2.
6.3. Oiling System Check
- Regularly check the oil level in the reservoir.
- Ensure the automatic lubrication system is functioning by observing oil spray from the chain during operation.
