- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'off', then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
- Use only water in this appliance. Do not use other liquids or foods.
- Ensure the drip tray is properly seated before brewing.

Setup
Follow these steps for initial setup before first use:
- Unpack: Remove all packaging materials and place the coffee maker on a stable, level surface.
- Rinse Reservoir: Wash the water reservoir and lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Fill Reservoir: Fill the water reservoir with fresh water up to the MAX fill line.
- Plug In: Plug the coffee maker into a grounded outlet. The power button will illuminate.
- First Cleansing Brew: Place a large mug on the drip tray. Do not insert a K-Cup pod. Lift and lower the handle. Select the 12 oz brew size button. The brew button will flash, then illuminate solid. Press the brew button to start a cleansing brew. Discard the hot water. Your coffee maker is now ready for use.

Operating Instructions
Brewing with your Keurig K-Express is simple:
- Add Water: Ensure the water reservoir is filled with fresh water.
- Place Mug: Place a mug on the drip tray. For travel mugs up to 7.4 inches tall, remove the drip tray.
- Insert K-Cup Pod: Lift the handle and place a K-Cup pod into the K-Cup pod holder. Lower the handle completely to close.
- Select Brew Size: Choose your desired brew size: 8 oz, 10 oz, or 12 oz. The selected button will flash.
- Strong Brew (Optional): For a bolder cup, press the STRONG button before selecting your brew size. The STRONG button will illuminate.
- Start Brew: Press the illuminated brew size button to begin brewing. The button will flash during brewing and remain solid when complete.
- Enjoy: Carefully remove your mug and enjoy your beverage. Lift the handle to eject the used K-Cup pod.



Maintenance
Regular cleaning and descaling will ensure optimal performance and longevity of your coffee maker.
Cleaning
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a damp, non-abrasive cloth.
- Drip Tray: The drip tray can accumulate spills. Remove it, empty, and rinse with warm, soapy water.
- K-Cup Pod Holder: The K-Cup pod holder can be removed for cleaning. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Water Reservoir: Clean the water reservoir and lid weekly with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
Descaling
Mineral deposits (calcium or lime scale) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker every 3 to 6 months, or when the descale indicator light illuminates.
- Prepare Descaling Solution: Follow the instructions on your Keurig descaling solution. (Descaling solution is sold separately).
- Perform Descale Cycle: Follow the specific descaling instructions provided with your Keurig descaling solution or refer to the Keurig website for detailed steps. This typically involves running several brew cycles with the solution and then with fresh water.

Troubleshooting
