3. Setup and Assembly

Assembly of the SONGMICS OBN043LH02 chair is designed to be quick and straightforward. All necessary tools (Allen key) are included. Please follow these steps carefully.

1. Step 1: Attach the Gas Lift and Wheels to the Base.

   Insert the five wheels into the star-shaped base. Then, place the gas lift cylinder into the center hole of the base.

2. Step 2: Attach the Armrests to the Seat.

   Align the armrests with the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the seat cushion. Secure them with the provided screws.

3. Step 3: Attach the Mechanical Plate to the Seat.

   Position the mechanical plate on the underside of the seat, ensuring the front is correctly oriented. Fasten it with screws.
4. Step 4: Connect the Backrest to the Seat Assembly.

   Attach the backrest to the seat assembly, securing it with screws through the designated holes.

5. Step 5: Connect the Seat Assembly to the Gas Lift.

   Carefully place the assembled seat onto the gas lift cylinder, ensuring it is firmly seated.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Ergonomic Support

The chair's design provides comprehensive ergonomic support to promote a healthy posture.

• Backrest: Adapts to your body shape, supporting the shoulders and entire back.
• Lumbar Support: The padded lumbar support provides optimal pressure relief and support for the lower back vertebrae and hips.
• Seat: The wide (51 cm) and thick (8 cm) seat, filled with high-density foam, reduces pressure on the hips.

4.2 Height Adjustment

To adjust the seat height, locate the lever on the right side beneath the seat.

• To raise the seat: Lift the lever while taking your weight off the seat. The seat will rise automatically.
• To lower the seat: Lift the lever while remaining seated. The seat will lower.
• Release the lever to lock the seat at the desired height.

4.3 Rocking Function

The chair features a rocking function (90-105°) for relaxation. The backrest cannot be locked in a reclined position.

• Activate/Deactivate Rocking: Pull the left lever outwards to activate the rocking function. Push it inwards to lock the chair in an upright position.
• Adjust Rocking Resistance: Turn the knob located beneath the seat (front-center) to adjust the tension of the rocking mechanism. Turn clockwise (+) to increase resistance, counter-clockwise (-) to decrease it.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning:
  • For the mesh and fabric parts, use a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • For the plastic and metal parts, wipe with a damp cloth.
• Inspection: Periodically check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Retighten if necessary.
• Casters: Keep the casters clean from hair and debris to ensure smooth movement.
• Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading of the fabric and mesh.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your chair, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Chair does not adjust height:
  • Ensure the height adjustment lever is fully engaged.
  • Check if the gas lift cylinder is properly installed and not damaged.
• Chair wobbles or feels unstable:
  • Verify that all screws and bolts are securely tightened, especially those connecting the base, armrests, and backrest.
  • Ensure the casters are fully inserted into the base.
• Casters do not roll smoothly:
  • Check for hair, dust, or debris caught in the casters and clean them thoroughly.
  • Ensure the casters are correctly installed.
• Rocking function is too stiff or too loose:
  • Adjust the tension knob located beneath the seat. Turn clockwise to increase resistance, counter-clockwise to decrease it.
