5. Installation
5.1 Recommended Placement
For optimal protection, install smoke detectors in every sleeping area and on every level of your home, including the basement. For best results, follow these guidelines:
- Install at least one detector in each sleeping area.
- Install at least one detector on every level of the home.
- For kitchens, install the detector as far as possible from cooking appliances and sinks to avoid false alarms. Ensure it has an accessible silence button.

5.2 Mounting Options
The XS0G-SN offers two installation methods: magnetic adhesive mounting or screw mounting.
Magnetic Mounting (for smooth surfaces):
- Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry.
- Peel off the protective film from the magnetic adhesive pad.
- Firmly press the magnetic pad onto the desired ceiling or wall location.
- Attach the smoke detector to the magnetic pad. It will snap into place.
Screw Mounting (for rough surfaces or added security):
- Mark the screw hole positions on the ceiling or wall using the mounting bracket as a template.
- Drill holes at the marked positions.
- Insert the anchor plugs into the drilled holes.
- Secure the mounting bracket with the provided screws.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
The detector is activated upon installation. To power off the device for renovations, moving, or transport, use the manual switch located on the back of the unit. This helps prevent false alarms and conserves battery life.
