1. Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the Diymore 20A 300W CC CV Step Down Module. This module is a high-efficiency DC-DC buck converter designed to step down a higher DC input voltage to a lower, adjustable DC output voltage. It features constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) modes, making it suitable for various applications such as battery charging, LED drivers, and regulated power supplies.
The module incorporates dual MOS tubes for high current handling and high-frequency, low-resistance electrolytic capacitors for stable output with low ripple. It also includes two heat sinks for enhanced thermal performance.

4. Setup and Wiring
Before connecting the module, ensure all power sources are disconnected. Observe proper polarity to prevent damage to the module and connected devices.
- Input Connection: Connect your DC input power source (6V to 40V) to the IN+ (positive) and IN- (negative) terminals. Use appropriate gauge wires for the expected current.
- Output Connection: Connect your load or device to the OUT+ (positive) and OUT- (negative) terminals.
- Soft Start Switch: The module includes an ON/OFF soft start switch. Ensure it is in the OFF position before applying input power for the first time or when making adjustments.

5. Operating Instructions
The module operates in two primary modes: Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Current (CC).
5.1. Voltage Adjustment (CV Mode)
- Connect the input power (6V-40V) to the module. Ensure the soft start switch is ON.
- Connect a voltmeter to the output terminals (OUT+ and OUT-).
- Turn the Voltage Adjustment (CV) potentiometer clockwise to increase the output voltage or counter-clockwise to decrease it. Adjust until the desired output voltage (1.2V-36V) is reached.
- If adjusting without a load, the output voltage will be set. When a load is connected, the voltage will remain constant as long as the current drawn does not exceed the set constant current limit.
5.2. Current Adjustment (CC Mode)
This mode is typically used for charging batteries or driving LEDs where a constant current is required.
- First, set the desired output voltage as described in Section 5.1. This voltage should be slightly higher than the maximum voltage required by your load (e.g., battery charging voltage).
- Disconnect the load.
- Connect an ammeter in series with the output, or use a suitable load that allows current measurement.
- Turn the Current Adjustment (CC) potentiometer counter-clockwise to set the current to its minimum.
- Connect your load (e.g., a discharged battery or an LED string).
- Slowly turn the Current Adjustment (CC) potentiometer clockwise until the desired output current is reached. The module will now limit the current to this set value.
- The indicator LED will typically illuminate when the module is operating in constant current mode.
5.3. Soft Start Switch
The soft start switch (ON/OFF) allows for controlled power application to the output. It is recommended to use this switch to prevent sudden current surges when connecting or disconnecting loads, especially sensitive electronics.
6. Maintenance
The Diymore Step Down Module is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure longevity:
- Keep the module clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry brush or compressed air for cleaning.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the module, especially when operating at high power levels, to allow the heat sinks to dissipate heat effectively.
- Avoid exposing the module to moisture, extreme temperatures, or corrosive environments.
- Regularly inspect wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Output Voltage:
- Check if the input voltage is within the specified range (6V-40V).
- Verify input polarity.
- Ensure the soft start switch is in the ON position.
- Check if the output voltage potentiometer (CV) has been adjusted to a very low setting.
- Output Voltage Not Adjustable:
- Ensure the input voltage is stable and within range.
- Verify that the potentiometer is functioning correctly.
- Output Current Not Adjustable or Too Low:
- Ensure the output voltage is set correctly for the load.
- Verify that the current adjustment potentiometer (CC) is functioning.
- Check if the load is drawing sufficient current.
- Overheating:
- Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Reduce the load or increase the input-output voltage difference if possible, as higher differences can lead to more heat generation.
- Verify that the heat sinks are properly attached and clean.
8. Safety Precautions
- Always disconnect power before making any wiring changes.
- Do not exceed the maximum input voltage, output current, or output power ratings.
- Ensure proper insulation for all connections to prevent short circuits.
- Operate the module in a well-ventilated area.
- This module generates heat during operation; avoid touching the heat sinks or other components while powered.
- Keep out of reach of children.
