1. Important Safety Instructions
Read all instructions carefully before operating the snow blower. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or property damage.
- Personal Safety: Always wear appropriate safety gear, including safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection, and sturdy footwear. Do not wear loose clothing that could get caught in moving parts.
- Keep Hands and Feet Clear: Never place hands or feet near rotating parts or the discharge chute while the snow blower is operating.
- Clear the Area: Before starting, inspect the area to be cleared and remove all objects such as rocks, toys, wires, or other debris that could be thrown by the auger.
- Operating Conditions: Operate only in daylight or good artificial light. Avoid operating on steep slopes. Exercise extreme caution when changing direction on slopes.
- Battery Safety: Use only the specified batteries and charger. Do not charge batteries in wet conditions. Store batteries in a dry, cool place.
- Accidental Start Prevention: Ensure the safety trigger is engaged and the power switch is off before performing any adjustments, cleaning, or maintenance.
- Unattended Operation: Never leave the snow blower unattended while it is running. Always turn off the machine and remove the battery when not in use or before servicing.
- Discharge Chute: Never direct discharge towards people or property. Keep bystanders, children, and pets at a safe distance.
- Clearing Clogs: If the discharge chute becomes clogged, turn off the motor, remove the battery, and wait for all moving parts to stop before attempting to clear the clog with a clearing tool, not your hands.
2. Setup and Assembly
The etoolab ET-S40 snow blower is designed for straightforward assembly. Follow these steps to prepare your unit for operation.
2.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Verify that all parts listed in the packing list are present.
- Retain packaging materials for future storage or transport.
2.2 Handle Assembly
Attach the upper handle to the lower handle section using the provided knobs and bolts. Ensure the handle is securely fastened and comfortable for operation.
2.3 Chute Assembly
Connect the discharge chute to the main unit. Ensure it rotates freely and locks into position securely for directional control of snow.
2.4 Battery Charging and Installation
The snow blower requires two 40V 4.0Ah Lithium-Ion batteries for operation. Fully charge both batteries before first use.
- Insert each battery into the charger. The charger indicator light will show charging status.
- Allow approximately 3-4 hours for each battery to fully charge.
- Once charged, slide both batteries into their respective compartments on the snow blower until they click into place. Ensure they are firmly seated.

3. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective snow removal with your etoolab ET-S40 snow blower.
3.1 Starting the Snow Blower
- Ensure both fully charged batteries are securely installed.
- Press and hold the safety button (usually located on the handle).
- While holding the safety button, squeeze the main switch lever to start the motor. Release the safety button once the motor starts.
- The 1500W brushless motor will begin operating, providing 2400-3000 RPM for efficient snow clearing.
3.2 Snow Clearing Techniques
- Clearing Width and Depth: The snow blower is designed to clear a path 19 inches wide and up to 12 inches deep. For deeper snow, clear in multiple passes.
- Throw Distance: The unit can throw snow up to 25 feet. Adjust your path to direct snow away from critical areas.
- Chute Adjustment: Use the chute control lever to adjust the direction of snow discharge. The chute offers 180-degree horizontal rotation and adjustable vertical angles (±30° left/right) for precise snow placement.
- Maneuverability: The lightweight design and 7-inch wheels facilitate easy pushing and turning.
- Battery Runtime: Expect 15-25 minutes of continuous operation on a full charge, sufficient for clearing up to 12 average driveways.
- Optimal Conditions: This snow blower performs best in fresh or soft snow. It is designed to operate reliably in temperatures ranging from -25°C to 10°C (-13°F to 50°F).
- Brushless Motor: The 1500W brushless motor provides consistent power and efficiency.

3.3 Stopping the Snow Blower
Release the main switch lever to stop the motor. The auger will cease rotation. Always remove the batteries when finished operating or before any adjustments.
4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your snow blower. Always remove batteries before performing any maintenance.
- Cleaning: After each use, clear any snow, ice, or debris from the auger housing, chute, and exterior surfaces. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Auger Inspection: Periodically inspect the auger blades for wear or damage. Replace worn blades to maintain clearing efficiency.
- Chute Lubrication: To prevent snow from sticking and improve chute rotation, apply a silicone spray to the inside of the discharge chute and the auger blades before each use.
- Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not store fully discharged batteries for extended periods. Recharge them periodically if not in use.
- Storage: When storing the snow blower for extended periods, ensure it is clean and dry. Remove the batteries. Store in a protected area away from direct sunlight and moisture.
