5. Operating Instructions
Your log set features a thermostatic remote control for convenient operation.
- Insert Remote Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the remote control and insert the specified batteries (3 AAA).
- Initial Startup (Pilot Ignition):
- Ensure the gas supply is open.
- Locate the control knob on the burner chassis. Turn it to the 'PILOT' position.
- Press and hold the control knob while simultaneously pressing the piezo igniter button (battery-assisted ignition). You should hear a click and see a spark at the pilot.
- Continue to hold the control knob for approximately 30-60 seconds after the pilot flame ignites to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
- Release the control knob. If the pilot extinguishes, repeat the process.
- Once the pilot is stable, turn the control knob to the 'ON' position.
- Using the Remote Control:
- Power On/Off: Press the 'ON' button to ignite the main burner. Press the 'OFF' button to turn off the main burner, leaving the pilot light on.
- Thermostatic Mode: Press the 'MODE' button until 'THERMO' appears on the LCD screen. Use the 'SET' button to adjust your desired temperature. The log set will cycle on and off to maintain this temperature.
- Manual Mode: Press the 'MODE' button until 'MANUAL' appears. The log set will operate continuously at the set heat level until manually turned off or the temperature is changed.
- The LCD screen displays current room temperature in °F or °C, burner on/off indication, and thermostat or manual mode indication.
- Shutting Down: To completely turn off the appliance, turn the control knob on the burner chassis to the 'OFF' position and close the main gas supply valve.
