1. Product Overview

The ORICO 9848U3 is a 4-bay USB 3.0 hard drive enclosure designed for external direct attached storage. It supports up to 88TB total storage capacity, with individual disks up to 22TB. Constructed from aluminum alloy, it features a tray-less design for easy installation and a safety lock mechanism for data security. 3. Setup and Installation

3.1. 3.5-inch HDD Installation

1. Gently pull up the blue clasps on both sides of the drive bracket.
2. Carefully place the 3.5-inch hard disk into the bracket.
3. Snap the carabiner pins into the side screw holes of the 3.5-inch HDD to secure it.
4. Slide the loaded bracket into an empty bay of the enclosure until it clicks into place.

3.2. 2.5-inch HDD/SSD Installation

1. Remove the blue clasps from the sides of the drive bracket.
2. Place the 2.5-inch HDD or SSD into the bracket.
3. Use screws to secure the 2.5-inch HDD/SSD in the corresponding holes on the bracket.
4. Slide the loaded bracket into an empty bay of the enclosure until it clicks into place.

3.3. Connecting the Enclosure

1. Connect the provided USB 3.0 Type-B cable to the enclosure's USB 3.0 port and to your computer's USB port.
2. Connect the power adapter to the enclosure's DC 12V port and plug it into a power outlet.
3. Flip the ON/OFF switch on the back of the enclosure to the 'ON' position.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Power On/Off

Use the ON/OFF switch located on the rear panel of the enclosure to power the device on or off. Ensure all data transfers are complete before powering off to prevent data loss.

4.2. Data Transfer

The ORICO 9848U3 supports USB 3.0 for stable data transmission, with actual transfer rates reaching up to 235 MB/s (5Gbps). Once connected to your computer, the installed drives will appear as individual storage devices, allowing for easy file management.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Heat Dissipation

The enclosure features front and rear vents, an 80mm cooling silent fan, and an aluminum alloy body to effectively dissipate heat. Ensure the vents are not obstructed to maintain optimal cooling performance and prolong the life of your drives.

5.2. Cleaning

Periodically clean the exterior of the enclosure with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials. Ensure the fan and vents are free from dust buildup to maintain efficient airflow.

• Drives Not Detected: Ensure the enclosure is powered on and the USB cable is securely connected to both the enclosure and the computer. Check if the drives are properly seated in their bays. Try connecting to a different USB port or using a different USB cable.
