Gas Connection
Connect the appliance to the natural gas supply line. All connections must be leak-tested using a non-corrosive leak detection solution. Do not use an open flame for leak testing.
Operating Instructions
Initial Startup
- Ensure the gas supply valve is open.
- Press and hold the control knob to the "PILOT" position.
- Press the Piezo igniter button repeatedly until the pilot flame ignites.
- Continue to hold the control knob for 30-60 seconds after ignition to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
- Release the control knob. If the pilot flame extinguishes, repeat steps 2-4.
- Once the pilot is stable, turn the control knob to the desired heat setting (e.g., "LOW" to "HIGH" or "THERMOSTAT").
Thermostatic Control
The DLS-N24T-1 model features thermostatic control. Once the control knob is set to the thermostat position, the burner will automatically cycle on and off to maintain the desired room temperature. Adjust the knob to increase or decrease the target temperature.
Shutting Down the Appliance
- To turn off the main burner, turn the control knob to the "PILOT" position.
- To completely shut off the appliance, turn the control knob to the "OFF" position and close the main gas supply valve.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures safe and efficient operation of your gas log set.
- Annual Inspection: Have the appliance inspected annually by a qualified service technician.
- Cleaning:
- Keep the control compartment, burners, and circulating air passageways clean.
- Clean the ceramic logs periodically with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove dust. Handle logs carefully as they are fragile.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Pilot and Burner: Check the pilot and main burner flames periodically. They should be blue with no yellow tipping. If yellow flames are observed, contact a qualified service technician.
- Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS): Do not clean the ODS pilot. If it requires service, contact a qualified technician.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the AAA battery for the Piezo ignition as needed.
