2. Safety Information

WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock or fire, always follow these safety precautions.

  • Ensure all electrical connections are made according to local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Do not immerse the electrical box in water or bury it underground. The IP54 rating protects against splashes, not submersion.
  • Always place the electrical box parallel to the ground. Do not position it vertically or diagonally, as this may compromise its waterproof seal.
  • Verify that all cables and plugs are fully inserted and that the rubber gaskets and cable clips are properly secured to maintain the waterproof seal.
  • Before opening the box for any reason, disconnect power to all connected devices.
  • Keep the box closed and latched when in use to prevent accidental opening and exposure to elements.
  • Do not overload the power strip or outlets inside the box. Adhere to the maximum current ratings of your electrical devices.

3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your Housolution Outdoor Electrical Box:

  1. Open the Box: Unlatch the two locking buckles on the sides of the main electrical box and lift the lid. For the smaller boxes, unclip the two halves.
  2. Insert Cables: Place your power strip, timers, or other electrical connections inside the main box. For the smaller boxes, insert the connection point of two cables.
  3. Route Cables: Guide the cables through the designated cable ports. The large box has 7 ports, and the small boxes have 2 ports each.
  4. Secure Cables with Clips: Use the internal cable clips to hold the cables firmly in place, preventing accidental movement or misalignment.
  5. Seal with Rubber Gaskets: Ensure the rubber gaskets around the cable ports fit snugly around your cables. These gaskets are crucial for maintaining the IP54 waterproof seal.
  6. Close and Latch: Carefully close the lid of the box, ensuring all cables are properly seated and not pinched. Securely fasten the two locking buckles until they click into place. For the smaller boxes, snap the two halves together firmly.
  7. Placement:
    • Flat Surface: Place the box horizontally on a stable, flat surface.
    • Wall Mounting: Utilize the hanging holes on the back of the large box to mount it to a wall. Ensure appropriate fasteners are used for the wall material.
    • Hanging Design (Small Boxes): The smaller boxes are designed to hang directly from the cable, providing protection for inline connections.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and continued effectiveness of your Housolution Outdoor Electrical Box:

  • Periodic Inspection: Periodically inspect the box for any signs of damage, cracks, or wear, especially after severe weather events.
  • Clean Seals: Ensure the rubber gaskets and cable ports are free from dirt, debris, or ice, which could compromise the waterproof seal. Clean with a damp cloth if necessary.
  • Check Latches: Verify that the locking buckles remain securely fastened.
  • Cable Integrity: Inspect the cables entering and exiting the box for any fraying or damage. Replace damaged cables immediately.
  • Warning Label: Ensure the fluorescent warning label is clean and visible, especially at night.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Housolution Outdoor Electrical Box, consider the following:

  • Water Inside the Box:
    • Ensure the lid is fully closed and both locking buckles are securely latched.
    • Check that all rubber gaskets around the cable ports are properly seated and form a tight seal around the cables.
    • Verify the box is placed horizontally and not tilted, which could allow water to pool or seep in.
    • Inspect the box for any cracks or damage that might compromise the seal.
  • Cables Not Fitting:
    • Ensure your cables are within the specified diameter limits (up to 12mm for the large box, up to 10mm for small boxes).
    • For larger plugs or adapters, ensure they fit within the internal dimensions of the box.
  • Box Not Closing Properly:
    • Check for any obstructions inside the box preventing the lid from closing completely.
    • Ensure cables are routed neatly and not interfering with the lid or latches.
