1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your GMKtec M3 Mini PC. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and longevity.

3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Connecting Peripherals

1. Connect Display: Use an HDMI cable to connect your monitor(s) to the HDMI ports on the back of the Mini PC. The device supports up to two HDMI 2.0 (4K@60Hz) outputs and one Type-C (DisplayPort 1.4) output for a triple screen display setup.
2. Connect Keyboard and Mouse: Plug your USB keyboard and mouse into the available USB 3.2 or USB 2.0 ports.
3. Connect Network (Optional): For a wired internet connection, connect an Ethernet cable from your router or modem to the 2.5G LAN port on the Mini PC. For wireless connectivity, the device supports WiFi 6.
4. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC port on the Mini PC, then connect the power cable to an electrical outlet.

3.2 Initial Power On

Press the power button located on the front of the Mini PC. The system will boot up, and you will be guided through the initial operating system setup (Windows 11 Pro or other compatible OS).

3.3 VESA Mount Installation

The included VESA bracket allows you to mount the Mini PC to the back of a compatible monitor or to a wall, saving desk space.

1. Attach the VESA bracket to the back of your monitor or desired surface using the provided screws.
2. Slide the Mini PC onto the bracket until it securely locks into place.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Operating System

The GMKtec M3 Mini PC comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro. It is also compatible with Linux and Ubuntu operating systems.

4.2 Connectivity

• Wi-Fi 6: Provides high-speed wireless internet connectivity with improved bandwidth and lower latency compared to previous Wi-Fi standards.
• Bluetooth 5.2: Enables connection to wireless peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and audio devices with enhanced sound quality and energy efficiency.
• 2.5G Ethernet: Offers wired network speeds up to 2.5 times faster than standard Gigabit Ethernet, ideal for demanding network tasks.

4.3 Triple Screen Display

The Mini PC supports connecting up to three displays simultaneously for extended desktop environments. This can be achieved using the two HDMI 2.0 ports and the USB-C port (which supports DisplayPort 1.4).

5. Maintenance and Upgrades

5.1 RAM and SSD Upgrades

The GMKtec M3 Mini PC is designed for user-friendly upgrades. You can expand the RAM and storage capacity:

• RAM: The device comes with 16GB (8GB*2) DDR4 dual-channel RAM and supports expansion up to 64GB.
• SSD: It includes a 1TB PCIe 3.0 M.2 2280 NVMe SSD and supports expansion up to 2TB. It also supports an additional M.2 2242 SATA SSD up to 2TB.

To perform an upgrade, carefully remove the screws and the bottom cover of the Mini PC. Refer to the internal component diagram for guidance.

5.2 Cooling System

The Mini PC features an efficient cooling fan with dual copper heat pipes to manage heat dissipation and prevent overheating during operation. Ensure that the cooling vents are not obstructed to maintain optimal performance.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GMKtec M3 Mini PC, consider the following general troubleshooting steps:

• No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and a working power outlet.
• No Display: Verify that your monitor is powered on and correctly connected to the Mini PC via HDMI or USB-C. Try a different cable or monitor if possible.
• Peripheral Not Working: Check USB connections for keyboards, mice, or other devices. Try connecting them to different USB ports.
• Network Connectivity Issues: For wired connections, check the Ethernet cable and router status. For Wi-Fi, ensure the Wi-Fi adapter is enabled and you are connected to the correct network with the correct password.
• System Unresponsive: Perform a hard reboot by holding the power button for 5-10 seconds until the device powers off, then power it back on.
