1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your UGOOS AM9 64-Bit Android Media Player. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and to maximize your user experience.

2. Setup Guide

2.1 Connecting the Device

  1. Connect HDMI Cable: Insert one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the UGOOS AM9 and the other end into an available HDMI input on your television or display.
  2. Connect Power Adapter: Plug the power adapter into the DC 12V port on the UGOOS AM9 and then into a wall outlet. The device will power on automatically.
  3. Network Connection:
    • Wi-Fi: During initial setup, you will be prompted to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Select your network and enter the password.
    • Ethernet: For a wired connection, connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the LAN port on the UGOOS AM9.

2.2 Remote Control Pairing

Before first use, insert two AAA batteries (not included) into the Bluetooth Remote Control. The remote will attempt to pair automatically with the UGOOS AM9 upon initial power-on. If pairing is unsuccessful, navigate to the Bluetooth settings on the device and manually pair the remote.

2.3 Initial Setup and UI Selection

Upon first boot, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup. You may be prompted to select between different user interfaces (UIs). Choose the UI that best suits your preference. You can change this later in the device settings.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Navigation

Use the directional pad (up, down, left, right) and the 'OK' button on the remote control to navigate through menus and select items. The 'Back' button returns to the previous screen, and the 'Home' button returns to the main screen. The remote also features an air mouse function for easier interaction with certain applications.

3.2 Application Management

The UGOOS AM9 supports installing applications from the Google Play Store and sideloading APK files.

3.3 Media Playback and 4K HDR

The UGOOS AM9 supports 4K HDR video playback with HDMI 2.0, including eARC, ALLM, VRR, and Dynamic HDR. It features hardware decoding for AV1, H.266 VVC, HEVC, and VP9 codecs up to 60 fps, ensuring smooth and vibrant playback for various media content.

3.4 Voice Control (Ok Google)

The Bluetooth remote includes a microphone for voice control. Press the dedicated voice control button on the remote and speak commands like "Launch YouTube" or "Play an action movie" to interact with the device and search for content.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Software Updates

Periodically check for system updates to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features. Navigate to Settings > About Device > System Update to check for and install available updates.

4.2 Cleaning

To clean the device, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the surface. Ensure the device is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.

4.3 Storage Management

The UGOOS AM9 comes with 64 GB of eMMC storage. You can expand storage using a TF/microSD card (up to 512 GB) or by connecting external USB drives.
