4. Setup

4.1. Mounting the Device

The Bikevee BKV300BL can be easily installed on your bicycle's handlebars or stem using the provided standard mount and rubber rings. Ensure the mount is securely fastened to prevent movement during your ride.

  1. Place the rubber pad on your handlebar or stem where you intend to mount the computer.
  2. Position the standard bike mount over the rubber pad.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Basic Button Functions

The Bikevee BKV300BL features three main buttons for navigation and settings:

  • Left Button (Power/Play/Pause): Press and hold for 2 seconds to power on/off. Short press to start/pause recording cycling data.
  • Middle Button (Settings): Long press to enter the settings page.
  • Right Button (Next Page/Select): Short press to move to the next data display page. In settings, short press to navigate options.

5.2. Unit Settings (MPH/KMH)

To switch between metric (KM/H) and imperial (MPH) units:

  1. Long press the Right Button to enter the settings page.
  2. Short press the Right Button to navigate through the settings until you find the unit settings.
  3. Short press the Left Button to toggle between KM/H and MPH.
  4. Once your desired unit is selected, short press the Right Button to exit the settings.

5.3. Time Zone Adjustment

To set the correct time zone for your location:

  1. Long press the Right Button to enter the settings page.
  2. Short press the Right Button to navigate through the settings until you find the time zone setting (UTC).
  3. Short press the Left Button to adjust the UTC offset to match your local time zone.
  4. Once your time zone is selected, short press the Right Button to exit the settings.

5.4. Automatic Backlight Control

The device features an automatic backlight that adjusts based on ambient light conditions. To manually control the backlight for constant illumination during night rides:

  • Press both the Left Button and Right Button simultaneously to turn the backlight on or off.
  • When the backlight is manually turned on, it will remain illuminated throughout your ride.

5.5. Clearing Cycling Data

To clear the current ride data:

  1. To clear the current cycling data (trip distance, trip time, etc.), hold down both the Left Button and Right Button simultaneously for 2 seconds until the screen flashes. This will reset the current ride data but will not affect total mileage.
  2. To clear all cycling data, including total mileage, hold down both the Left Button and Right Button simultaneously for 6 seconds until the data disappears. Please note that once cleared, this data cannot be retrieved.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the screen or casing.

6.2. Water Resistance

The Bikevee BKV300BL has an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning it can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water. However, it is not designed for prolonged submersion. Ensure the USB-C charging port cover is securely closed to maintain water resistance.

6.3. Battery Charging

Charge the device using the provided USB-C cable. A full charge provides up to 28 hours of continuous use. Avoid using damaged cables or chargers.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Press and hold the Left Button for 2 seconds.
  • No GPS signal: Ensure you are in an open area with a clear view of the sky. It may take a few moments to acquire a signal upon startup.
  • Incorrect time: Adjust the time zone setting as described in Section 5.3.
  • Display not visible at night: Activate the constant backlight function as described in Section 5.4.
  • Data not recording: Ensure the device is not paused. Short press the Left Button to resume recording.
