1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1. Charging the Battery

Insert the LP-E17 battery into the LC-E17 charger. Plug the charger into a power outlet. The charging indicator light will show the charging status. Charge the battery fully before first use.

3.2. Inserting the Battery and Memory Card

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert the charged LP-E17 battery into the compartment, ensuring the correct orientation, until it clicks into place.
  3. Open the memory card slot cover. Insert the 64GB SDXC memory card with the label facing the front of the camera until it clicks.
  4. Close both covers securely.

3.3. Attaching the Lens

  1. Remove the camera body cap and the rear lens cap from the RF-S 14-30mm f/4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens.
  2. Align the red index mark on the lens with the red index mark on the camera body.
  3. Rotate the lens clockwise until it clicks into place.

3.4. Initial Power On

Turn the power switch to the 'ON' position. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the date, time, and language.
