The Tamagotchi Original contains a CR2032 button cell battery. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.

2. Product Overview

The Tamagotchi Original - Avocado Mix is a digital pet that requires care and interaction to grow and thrive. This version features the classic 1997 programming and an Avocado Mix shell design.

3. Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove the Tamagotchi device from its packaging.
2. Attach Chain: Securely attach the included chain to the Tamagotchi device.
3. Power On: Locate the power switch (usually on the back or side) and slide it to the 'ON' position (right). The device will display an egg.
4. Hatch Egg: Follow the on-screen instructions to set the time and hatch the egg. Your digital pet will appear shortly after.

4. Operating Instructions

The Tamagotchi device features three buttons (A, B, C) for navigation and interaction. Button A is typically for selection, Button B for confirmation, and Button C for cancellation or cycling through options.

• Feeding: When your Tamagotchi is hungry, an icon will appear. Navigate to the food menu and select a meal or snack.
• Cleaning: If your Tamagotchi makes a mess, an icon will alert you. Navigate to the cleaning option to tidy up.
• Playing: Engage with your Tamagotchi by playing games to keep it happy and entertained.
• Medicine: If your Tamagotchi becomes sick, a sick icon will appear. Administer medicine from the appropriate menu.
• Lights On/Off: Control the lights for your Tamagotchi's sleep schedule.
• Discipline: If your Tamagotchi misbehaves or demands attention unnecessarily, use the discipline option.
• Health Check: Monitor your Tamagotchi's health, hunger, and happiness levels through the status screen.

5. Game Play

The Tamagotchi Original includes the "Character game." In this game, you must guess which way the Tamagotchi will move next. Success in this game, along with overall care, influences the adult character your Tamagotchi will evolve into.

6. Character Evolution

Your Tamagotchi will evolve from an egg to a child, and then to an adult. The specific adult character it becomes is determined by the quality of care you provide and your performance in the Character game. There are 7 different adult forms your Tamagotchi can take.

7. Maintenance

• Battery Replacement: The device uses one CR2032 lithium battery. When the battery is low, the screen may dim or the device may stop responding. Replace the battery carefully, ensuring correct polarity.
• Cleaning the Device: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the Tamagotchi. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Storage: When not in use, turn off the Tamagotchi by sliding the power switch to the 'OFF' position (left) to conserve battery life. Store in a cool, dry place.

8. Troubleshooting

• Device Not Responding: Check if the battery needs replacement. If the battery is new, try resetting the device using the reset button (often a small, recessed button requiring a pointed object like a paperclip).
• Sound Issues: If the sound is not working or is too loud, refer to the original instructions for muting/unmuting the device. Typically, holding down specific buttons simultaneously can toggle sound.
• Tamagotchi Dies Frequently: Ensure you are consistently feeding, cleaning, and playing with your pet. Neglect will lead to its demise.
• Pausing the Game: To temporarily pause your Tamagotchi's growth and needs (e.g., during school or sleep), navigate to the clock setting screen and leave it on the "SET" display. This will pause the game without resetting your progress.
