Operating Instructions

1. Tuning Your Instrument

Once attached and powered on, pluck a single string on your instrument. The tuner's display will show the note being played and indicate whether it is sharp, flat, or in tune. Adjust your instrument's tuning peg until the display shows the correct note and the indicator is centered, signifying accurate pitch.

The SN5XT's anechoic sound shield helps block room noise, making tuning easier and faster, especially in noisy environments. The extra tight software ensures precise tuning results.

2. Pitch Calibration

The tuner supports pitch calibration at 432 Hz and 442 Hz. To change the calibration, locate the calibration button (often a small button on the side or back) and press it to cycle between the available frequencies. Select the desired pitch standard for your tuning needs.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the tuner's screen and body. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the tuner frequently. Recharge it when the battery indicator is low. If storing for an extended period, charge it to about 50% and store in a cool, dry place.
  • Storage: Store the tuner in a protective case or a safe place to prevent damage to the screen or clip mechanism.

Troubleshooting

  • Tuner not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the USB cable and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
  • Inaccurate tuning: Re-clip the tuner firmly to a different spot on the instrument's headstock. Ensure you are plucking strings clearly and individually. Check the pitch calibration setting (432 Hz or 442 Hz) to ensure it matches your desired standard.
  • Display not visible or dim: Check the battery level. If the screen is dim, it may indicate a low battery. Ensure the tuner is positioned correctly for optimal viewing angle.
  • Tuner not picking up notes: Ensure the tuner is securely clipped to the instrument. The anechoic sound shield reduces external noise, but a strong vibration from the instrument is still required for accurate detection.
