3. Product Overview

The iControl system integrates various components to create a fully automated grow environment. It features an intuitive interface with both touch and physical buttons for easy navigation and control. The controller acts as the central hub for all connected devices.

4.1. Physical Connections

Connect your MARS HYDRO devices to the iControl unit using the provided RJ12 cords and splitters. Ensure all connections are secure.

  1. Connect the 3-in-1 Temp/Humid/Light Sensor to the designated sensor port on the iControl.
  2. Connect your MARS HYDRO grow lights (e.g., FC/FC-E Series, Adlite-100) to the LIGHT ports.
  3. Connect inline fans and clip fans to the FAN ports.
  4. Connect humidifiers and dehumidifiers (if applicable) to the DEVICE ports, using RJ12 splitters as needed.
  5. Plug the power supply into the DC-12V port on the iControl unit and then into a power outlet.

4.2. App Pairing

To unlock remote control and advanced features, pair your iControl unit with the MARS HYDRO app:

  1. Download the MARS HYDRO app from your device's app store.
  2. Open the app and create an account or log in.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. The app will search for nearby iControl units via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
  4. Once detected, select your iControl unit and complete the pairing process, including Wi-Fi setup for remote access.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Environmental Responsive Control

The iControl automatically adjusts fans, humidifiers, and dehumidifiers to maintain target temperature, humidity, and VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) parameters. Set your desired environmental conditions through the controller's interface or the MARS HYDRO app.

5.2. Stage-Based Smart Automation

Configure customized lighting and climate strategies for different growth phases (seedling, vegetative, flowering). The system will automatically transition between stages based on your preset timelines, ensuring consistent ideal conditions.

5.3. Precision Light Control

Manage your grow lights with automated on/off cycles, dimming, and sunrise-to-sunset simulation. If equipped with an optional PPFD sensor, the system can automatically adjust light intensity to meet target PPFD values for each growth stage.

5.4. Smart Soil Sensor (Optional)

With an optional soil sensor, monitor root-zone temperature, humidity, and EC (Electrical Conductivity) with precision. This data allows for informed adjustments to water and nutrient delivery, promoting healthier root development.

5.5. Smart CO2 Balance (Optional)

Integrate an optional CO2 sensor to accurately monitor CO2 levels. The iControl can connect with an iHub (sold separately) to automate your CO2 generator, maintaining optimal CO2 concentrations for faster, healthier plant growth.

5.6. Remote App Control & Data Logging

The MARS HYDRO app provides real-time monitoring of all environmental parameters and connected devices. Access detailed data logs to track historical conditions and optimize your grow strategy. Manage devices, adjust settings, and receive alerts from anywhere.

6. Expandable Smart Sensor System

The iControl system is designed for expandability. Optional PPFD, soil, and CO2 sensors (sold separately) can be integrated to further enhance environmental automation and data collection. The iHub Pro (also sold separately) expands control to up to 10 grow devices, including non-RJ12 AC appliances like supplemental lights, heaters, or pumps, providing advanced automation for complex setups.

6.1. Compatibility Overview

The iControl works exclusively with MARS HYDRO products equipped with an RJ12 port. For controlling non-RJ12 AC appliances, the iHub-4AC or iHub Pro is required.
