Setup Guide

1. Power On and Initial Placement

Plug the WiFi extender into a power outlet near your existing router. Wait approximately one minute until the Power LED turns solid blue. This indicates the device is powered on and ready for configuration.

2. WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) Method

  1. Press the WPS button on your existing router.
  2. Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the AOOEPU WiFi Extender.
  3. The extender's Wi-Fi LED indicator will blink and then turn solid blue, indicating a successful connection to your router.

3. App-Based Setup (Recommended for advanced settings)

  1. Download the AOOEPU companion app from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Connect your smartphone to the extender's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "AOOEPU_Extender").
  3. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create an account and configure the extender. You will be prompted to select your existing Wi-Fi network and enter its password.
  4. The app will guide you through selecting the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks to extend.
  5. Once configured, the extender will reboot, and its Wi-Fi LED indicators will turn solid blue.

4. Optimal Placement

After successful setup, unplug the extender and relocate it to a location halfway between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone. Ensure the signal LED on the extender indicates a strong connection (solid blue) to your main router for best performance. Avoid placing the extender near large metal objects, concrete walls, or other devices that may cause interference.

Operating Modes

The AOOEPU WiFi Extender supports three primary operating modes:

  • Repeater Mode: Extends the range of your existing Wi-Fi network. This is the most common mode for eliminating Wi-Fi dead zones.
  • Access Point (AP) Mode: Converts a wired internet connection into a wireless hotspot, ideal for areas without Wi-Fi coverage but with an Ethernet port.
  • Router Mode: Functions as a primary router, creating a new wireless network from a modem connection.

Maintenance

  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the AOOEPU app or website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the extender is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not cover the ventilation holes.
  • Reset: If the device is not functioning correctly, you may perform a factory reset by pressing the reset button with a pin for 5-10 seconds while the device is powered on. Note that this will erase all custom settings.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the extender is securely plugged into a working power outlet. Check if the Power LED is solid blue.
  • Cannot Connect to Extender's Wi-Fi: Verify that the extender is powered on. Try restarting the extender. If using app setup, ensure you are connected to the extender's default Wi-Fi network.
  • Poor Signal Strength: Relocate the extender closer to your main router. Ensure there are no major obstructions (thick walls, large metal objects) between the router and the extender. Check the signal LED for optimal placement.
  • Slow Internet Speed: Ensure your main router is providing adequate internet speed. Try connecting a device directly to the extender via an Ethernet cable to test wired speed. Consider adjusting the extender's placement.
  • WPS Setup Fails: Ensure you press the WPS button on your router and then on the extender within the two-minute window. If it continues to fail, try the app-based setup method.
