This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your LoraTap SC500W-V4 WiFi Module for roller shutters. This module allows you to transform traditional roller shutters into smart, controllable devices via the Smart Life application and voice commands.

2. Product Overview

The LoraTap SC500W-V4 is a compact WiFi module designed for integration behind existing 2-button rocker or push-button switches. It enables precise control of roller shutters from 0% to 100% via a smartphone application or voice assistants like Alexa. The module operates on a 2.4 GHz WiFi network and does not require a separate hub.

5. Setup & Installation

5.1 Wiring Diagram

Refer to the diagram below for correct wiring. Ensure all connections are secure.

5.2 Physical Installation

  1. Disconnect Power: Turn off the main power supply to the circuit at your home's circuit breaker.
  2. Remove Existing Switch: Carefully remove your existing 2-button roller shutter switch from the wall box.
  3. Wire the Module: Connect the LoraTap module according to the wiring diagram (Image 1). Connect the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires from your power supply to the corresponding terminals on the module. Connect the motor's UP and DOWN wires to L1 and L2 respectively. Connect your existing wall switch to S1 and S2.
  4. Insert Module: Place the compact module into the standard flush-mounted wall box (Ø 60 mm) behind your existing switch.
  5. Reinstall Switch: Reattach your existing 2-button switch over the module.
  6. Restore Power: Turn the main power supply back on.

5.3 Switch Compatibility

The module is compatible with two types of switches:

  • Rocker Switch (Wippschalter): Stays in position after being pressed.
  • Momentary Switch (Taster): Springs back to its original position after being pressed.

Note: Not compatible with 3-button wall switches.

5.4 App Installation & Pairing

  1. Download App: Download the 'Smart Life' app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register/Login: Create an account or log in to your existing Smart Life account.
  3. Add Device: In the app, tap '+' to add a new device. Select 'Curtain Switch' or 'Shutter Switch'.
  4. Enter WiFi Details: Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. Enter your WiFi password.
  5. Pairing Mode: Follow the app instructions to put the module into pairing mode. This usually involves pressing and holding a button on the module or performing a specific sequence with the connected wall switch until an indicator light flashes rapidly.
  6. Complete Pairing: The app will detect and connect to the module. Once connected, you can rename the device.

5.5 Calibration

Before first use, calibration is essential for accurate 0-100% positioning. If needed, recalibration can be performed at any time through the Smart Life app.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Manual Control

You can operate the roller shutter using the connected 2-button wall switch as usual. The module will register these actions.

6.2 App Control (0-100% Positioning)

Open the Smart Life app and select your roller shutter module. You can precisely adjust the shutter's position from 0% (fully closed) to 100% (fully open) using a slider or by entering a specific percentage. This allows for fine-tuned light and privacy control.

6.3 Voice Control (Alexa)

  • Voice control not working:

    • Confirm your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz WiFi signal. The module does not support 5 GHz WiFi.
    • Restart your WiFi router and the module (by cycling power).
